I have completed B.Tech in eletronics and communication engineering in the last year. After that I was looking for some good jobs but it didnt work at all. At the same time I appeared for the cat and mat exam. But. the result of entrance examination was not good. Hardly I got 53 percentile in mat.. Now I am confused what to do ?? No job , no study. I am so frustrated at the moment for my career. sir please give me some advice.. which path I should follow up ??

It is good that you have completed your B.Tech in Petrochemical Engineering.

I suggest you to look for the job opportunities soon after the completion of this course rather than going for Higher studies.

Even though the job opportunities are less, if you put your best efforts, then you will easily get the job.

Be strong enough in your academics and collect the information regarding the Companies that are offering Job Opportunities for Petrochemical Engineers.

Just prepare a resume by including all your
-Achievements
-Academic Projects
-Skills etc.

Upload your profile in Job Portals and update it regularly.

Then you will be given information regarding the job opportunities through Emails and Telephonic calls.

Apply for the jobs which best suits you and crack the selection procedure to get the job.

I suggest you to go for higher studies only when you did not get a job in any of the company.

Both the course that you mentioned like M.Tech and MBA are having their own career scope and job opportunities for the candidates.

To join M.Tech course, you have to give GATE Exam and for MBA course, any of the following Entrance Exams should be required
CAT
MAT
GMAT etc.

In addition there are some state level Entrance Exams are also there like
ICET
TANCET etc.

Choose the Entrance Exam as per your interest and crack it.

Wish you all the best.

Hello
Its all about depends upon you that in which field you are intersted.
so, understand that there is no point comparing M.Tech and MBA.
Both are specialised degrees and have value in their respective fields.

M.Tech and MBA provide excellent career options.
Whether it be a manufacturing, IT or R&D driven organisation, there would be requirements for both M.Tech and MBA.

Doing M.Tech in a particular field will definitely make you more valuable to a company that has business profile of that field. MBA, on other hand, will give you a totally different business perspective.

There is nothing better between two. It comes down to the what you prefer the most. Master in Business Administration course should be picked if you have interest in more managerial type of role while M.Tech is more geared towards research field.

Therefore whatever you find more interesting should be your post graduate course. My personal recommendation would be M.Tech over the MBA course. I believe the advantages of M.Tech are far greater then of MBA.

To do M.Tech, you would require to first appear in the GATE entrance exam. The performance in the GATE would determine which college would give you admission for post graduate Engineering course.

Based on the performance in GATE, you can even apply for the IITs. However please remember that even a great GATE score does not guarentee a place in IIT. You may still end up without getting the admission.

Preparing for the GATE exam is not easy. You would have to prepare for several months to pass the GATE exam. Luckily there is an option to appear in GATE while in the final year of B.Tech course.

The other options you talked about is MBA. Just like M.Tech, here too you are required to appear in a entrance exam. The top choices are CAT and the MAT entrance exam.

Common Admission Test of CAT is the entrance exam for admission in the IIMs, the top Management colleges in India. You need at least 50 percent marks to appear in Common Admission Test. However candidates from SC/ST require 45 percent marks to appear in the CAT entrance exam.

The other option is Management Aptitude Test. It is preferred by candidate who fail to secure necessary marks to appear for the Common Admission Test. MAT does not have any percentage requirement.

MBA is better than M.tech as M.tech takes you in the research field which you should follow if you really have a intrest in it,but MBA will get you in the management line and you will grow rapidly in your career, there are various colleges from where you can do your MBA
1.IIM(ahemdabad,lucknow etc)
2.XLRI
3.Delhi school of management(DU)
