Re: How to do LLB course through correspondence

Hi,

There is no procedure to do LLB through correspondence. This is because LLB is not offered through distance education or correspondence. It has been barred from offering by the Bar Council of India.

There are however some Law degrees that are offered through correspondence. But unfortunately Bar Council of India has refused to recognize them. Therefore pursuing such degrees is completely useless.

You can not practice in any Indian court through such degree. Neither you will find any government job with such degree. It is better to apply for the LLB through regular mode. There are some universities that offer LLB course.

Eligibility

1. You should have graduation degree.

2. At least 45 percent marks in graduation.

3. SC/ST need 40 percent marks in graduation.

4. The maximum age limit is 30 years.

5. The age limit is relaxed by 5 years for OBC.

6. Criteria for OBC is same as General.

All the best......................

Dear,

LLB is bachelor of laws. In this you will study all about Indian laws and Indian Panel Code. LLB qualification is needed to practice as lawyer in civil courts.

Correspondence course is for those candidates who wants to complete their studies while working or are unable to attend the regular classes because of certain conditions.

It is a 3 year degree program and you need to have completed your graduation before it. Thus after your 12th you can go for B.A , B.Com or any other graduation course according to your interest and then your can apply to LLB course either distance or regular mode.

However the best universities that provides LLB course through distance mode are:
1. Annamalai University
2. University of Jammu
3. Kakatitya University
4. School of Open Learning
5. Continuing Education
6. University of Kashmir
7. Madhurai Kamraj University
8. Pondicherry University

Best of luck!

Re: How to do LLB course through correspondence

LLB is not offered through correspondence, therefore if you want to become lawyer, start considering law course through regular mode. While there are law courses that are offered through correspondence, they are not accepted by the Bar Council of India.

Therefore what you really need to do is apply for the integrated law course since you have completed 12th standard. The integrated law course is same as LLB in terms of merit. The only difference is that while LLB is 3 years long, the duration of integrated law course like BA LLB is 5 years.

This is because while LLB can only be pursued after completing graduation. Integrated courses like BA LLB include course of bachelor degree. Thus in five years you complete a bachelor degree as well LLB. On the other hand, first doing graduation and then LLB will take 6 years.

Therefore you should apply for the BA LLB or any other integrated law course. You can appear for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) which is conducted for candidates having completed 12th standard. It is important that you have completed 12th to apply for it. At the time of applying, you will have to submit all the documents verfiying that you actually have completed 12th.

Eligibility

1. You must have completed 12th in any stream.

2. Minimum of 50 percent marks are required.

3. SC/ST candidates require 45 percent marks.

4. The age limit is 20 years to apply.

5. SC/ST candidates get 2 years relaxation.

6. You must have completed 12th to apply.
