Re: Any chance to join defense for girls? What is the eligibility? Dear Friend, Its nice to see your interest in joining Defense instead of being a Girl. The Union Public Service Commission [UPSC] conducts two examinations every year through which the candidates willing to Join Defense can fulfill their dream. These Two Examinations are : * NDA & NA Exam * Combined Defense Services Exam Both the examinations are conducted twice every year and provides adequate opportunity to join Defense. But unfortunately , the NDA Examination is conducted only for male candidates and Girl Candidates cannot appear in the NDA Exam. So , There is only one option left for Girls to join Defense and that is the Combined Defense Services Examination. The CDS Exam is conducted twice every year as CDS-I & CDS-II Exam every year in the months of February and September. The Qualifications Required for CDS Exam are : * The candidate must have completed graduation with Maths as one of the Subjects from any recognized college/university. * The candidate must be an Indian Citizen. * The Candidate`s age must lie in between 18-24 years. * Candidates in fina year of graduation can also apply but their application is limited to CDS-I Exam only. * The candidate must have a good mental and physical status. So , If you are really interested in joining Defense , then CDS Exam is the best option for you. The Schedule of the upcoming CDS Exam is : Date Of Notification : 25-05-2013 Last date For Receipt Of Applications : 24-06-2013 Date Of Exam : 08-09-2013 This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. Generally there are two category of Defence Services such as NDA & CDS, the entrance exam for both are conducted by UPSC twice every year. NDA - National Defence Academy is only meant for Male unmarried Indian candidate to join Indian Army, Navy and Air Force wing of NDA after 12th standard. Girls candidate is not eligible for this job. CDS - Combined Defence Service can be joined by unmarried Indian National after Graduation. and Girl candidate is only eligible to join Indian Officer's Training Academy of CDS. Eligibility for Girls to join OTA of CDS:- The candidate must be an Indian unmarried National having either appeared for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 19 to 25 years with good Physical and Mental health. But Girls can apply for the CDS exams But in the CDS also Girls are allowed to apply for the OTA wing only Minimum eligibilty to apply for the OTA wing is Graduation Pass in any streams Age of the candidates should be between 19 to 25 years Also Girls can apply for the AFCAT exams. In AFCAT they can apply for the Flying Branch and Ground Duty Branch FLYING BRANCH- Education- Graduates in any stream with Minimum 60% marks and should have studies the subjects Physics and Maths in class 12th or BE/BTECH Pass with minimum 60% marks Age- between 19 to 23 years Minimum Height- 162.5 cms Minimum Leg Length - 99 cms Maximum Leg Length - 120 cms GROUND DUTY Branch; Education- Graduates in any stream with Minimum 60% marks Age- Between 19 to 23 years |

Re: Any chance to join defense for girls? What is the eligibility? Yes, unmarried female candidates can join defense. They can join to Officers Training Academy. For this, age must be between 18 and 24 years. Minimum acceptable height for women candidates is 152 cms. CDS exam is conducted to join Officer positions. |
