Hi friend,

You are eligible for IPS or IAS after completing Mechanical engineering course

Eligibility IAS exam
You should have degree or equivalent from any recognized university .
Students of final year are also eligible on provisional basis.
Age criteria
21 years to 30 years


Eligibility IPS exam
You must have a graduate degree in any discipline
Age criteria
21 years to 30 years
Minimum height of 165 cm for Men and 150 cm for Women

Distant vision
6/6 or 6/9
6/12 or 6/9

150 - 200 IPS post are there in 2011 recruitment of civil service.

Age Limit:

21-30(GEN)

21-33(OBC)

21-35(SC/ST/PD)

Main Examination and Personal interview
Those who qualify Preliminary round appear for Main examination.
Those who qualify Main examination are called for Interview.
The marks of Main examination and Interview are sum up to prepare the final merit list.

The Main examination comprise of following papers.
Essay type Indian Language Qualifying Paper (300 marks)
English Qualifying Paper (300 marks)
General Essay type paper (200 marks)
General Studies(Paper-I&II 300 marks each)
Optional subject-I(Paper-I&II 300 marks each)
Optional subject-II(Paper-I&II 300 marks each)

Interview: 300 marks.

The eligibility criteria for the same is
Graduation degree in any stream from a recognised university
Age Limit:
21-30(GEN)
21-33(OBC)
21-35(SC/ST/PD)

There are total seat in CIVIL SERVICES EXAM is 450.
Seat for I.P.S is 180.

I.P.S exam exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year.

Qualification:- Pass graduation with any stream fron recginiced university.

Age limit:-
For Open category:- 21-30 year
For OBC category:- 21-33 YEAR
For ST/SC category:- 21-37 year

Number of Attempts:-
For open category:- 4 attempts
For ST/SC category:- 7 attempts

well IPS officers are selected through

UPSC civil services exam

which is conducted in 3 phases

prelims.... now CSAT

Mains

Interview.

Only people in to 100 have a chance of opting for

IPS, and there are hardly 20-30 posts each year.

IPS exam is conducted under UPSC.Eligiblity requires is that a candidate must be graduate in any course,age limit 21-30 years of age,should be physicaly fit.

in 2010 there is 130 seats for IPS officer but this year it will be increased 200. so the total no of seat is 150 for 2011.

the number of ias and ips seats are not constant every year and the number keeps changing..

the upsc board will recruit nearly 150 seat for the IAS and 102 for IPS this year

IPS Vacancies for the year 2011-12

Civil Service Examination held in two phases One is Prelims and 2nd is Mains. if you clear to both the Exams then you can join one of the Service provided by upsc i.e IAS , IPS , IFS , IPAF Group A , IAAS Group A etc.

IPS posts are there for this year
You can join Indian Police Services(IPS) by qualifying Civil Services examination
which is conducted by UPSC every year.
This year the notification for the exam will come on 19th February,2011 and the
application will remain open till 21st March, 2011.
The application procedure will be available in the notification.
You can either apply online or you can get the application form post office and send
in your application.
The examination is conducted in two stage:
Civil Services Preliminary Examination or Civil Services Aptitude Test(CSAT)
This a common exam based on General Studies, comprehension skill, verbal and
quantitative aptitude and communication skills.
