Re: Do I have to attend CPT to do CA after engineering? I have done my engineering with 53% marks. Do I first need to clear the CPT exams before going for Intermediate course of CA, or can apply directly. |

Re: Do I have to attend CPT to do CA after engineering? The graduates can apply for intermediate course of CA directly. The candidates who have scored less than 55% marks in graduation should clear the CACPT exam. You have not mentioned the percentage of marks in engineering. If you have obtained more than 55% marks you do not have to write CPT. There are two groups in intermediate course consisting of 7 papers. Once you clear the group 1 of the intermediate course you should join information technology training. You should have completed 25 days of training or 100 hours of training before joining the final course. There are 8 papers in the final course. You have to clear all the papers individually and then register as a member in ICAI to become a CA. |

Re: Do I have to attend CPT to do CA after engineering? Under certain condition graduates are not reqquired to qualify CPT to be eligible for IPCC. The graduates who are not required to qualify CPT are, i) Commerce Graduate with 50% marks in Graduation. ii) Non-commerce(Without Maths.) Graduate with 55% marks in Graduation. iii) Non-commerce(With Maths.) Graduate with 60% marks in Graduation. As you are an engineering graduate so you fall in the third category i.e., if you have scored more than 60% marks in B.Tech. then you are not required to qualify CPT to become eligible for IPCC. You can directly apply for IPCC if you have scored 60% or more marks in B.Tech. |
