Hi according to me you can refer to some educational coaching provider organizations as they have vast experience and knowledge to prepare students. some even also offer correspondence coaching in Gate. Re: How to prepare for GATE exam? hi! GATE is one of the toughest exam in India for admission to MTech. Courses. So, you must prepare well before appearing in the exam. Hard work, determination & right strategy will help you to crack the GATE exam. Some useful tips for GATE exam preparation are: Have a strong hold of the fundamentals. Selection of right books & study materials. Try to solve model papers based on latest exam pattern. Analyze result, find out the weak areas & try to overcome those weak areas. Regular practice is the only key to success in any exam. |

Keep preparing your main branch papers.That is enough for GATE.GATE is mostly concept based exam and you need to have strong basics to clear the exam.You can appear in final year.Study hard and also check question papers of GATE of all year.It will help you analysing the subjects which has more importance in the exams.And GATE is the only exam where Maths will be of great importance.Prepare very well for Engineering mathematics.Study hard.You have time.All the best |

Re: How to prepare for GATE exam? As you said you have lot of time for GATE preparation.GATE is one of the leading entrance exam. Preparation for gate simple compared to CAT,MAT exams. PREPARATION 1.You need to be strong in engineering subjects. 2.you have to strong in aptitude,reasoning topics. 3.Study atleast last 5 GATE model papers. 4.You need to be strong in general english. This preparation is may helpful for other exams also.So,try to prepare seriously. All the best. |

Re: How to prepare for GATE exam? dear friend, gate exam is the graduate aptitude test in engineering . this exam is conducted in the eight zones of the India by 7 IIT's and IISC , BANGLORE the objectives of this GATE exam are to identify meritorious and motivated candidates for admission to the post graduate engineering at the national level. every year one IIT or IISC is selected as the organizing institute . as the gate exam is for the post graduation , it includes the syllabus of the b.tech . like , if you have done btech in electronics then you can choose the electronics subject for the gate exam. preparation of the gate exam should be started in the 3rd year of the b.tech according to me. knowledge in the specific subject and clearification of the concept is the key to success in the gate exam. you have to do study planning according to the weightage of the subject. gate exam have one paper of 3 hours. in that you can choose the subject of your interest. thanks and best of luck |

Re: How to prepare for GATE exam? dear friend, as you said you are student of 3rd year there is fairly enough time for you to prepare for GATE exam from now onwards you should start revising all your basics of 2nd year also because the GATE course mainly comprises of 2nd & 3rd year course and you also need to solve at least, last 10 year question papers of GATE because only then you will have a probability of having a good percentile score in GATE.
