Hi friend,

SSC stands for Staff Selection Commission.

The age limits are different for the different recruitments.

CBI Age limit:

The candidate minimum age limit is 20 years.

The candidate max age limit is 27 years.

Upper age relaxation is applicable.

Income Tax Officer Age limit:

The candidate minimum age limit is 18 years.

The candidate maximum age limit is 27 years.

Upper age relaxation is applicable.

SSC – Staff Selection Commission

SSC is responsible for conducting exam for recruitment of lower cadre pots in various government establishments.

These are the exams conducted by SSC-

CPO –S.I.Exam

SSC HSLE

SSc- CGLE

SSC JE

JT Exam

T.A.E.




SSC CPO – Central Police Organization – Sub Inspector

Age limit – 20 years to 25 years


SSC Combined Higher Secondary Level Exam
Age limit – 18 years to 27 years.


SSC Combined Graduate Level exam ( SSC –CGL)

Age limit –

1. Sub Inspectors in CPOs – 20 years to 25 years

2. Assistant / Sub Inspector in CBI – 20 years to 27 years

3. Statistical Investigators – Maximum 26 years

4. For all other posts – 18 years to 27 years.


SSC Junior Engineer Exam
Age Limit – Maximum 27 years


SSC Junior Translator Exam
Age limit – Maximum 30 years


SSC Tax Assistant Exam
Age Limit – 21 years to 27 years

SSC(Staff Selection Commission) basiccaly conducts two types of exam.These are :-
~SSC LDC.
~SSC UDC.

The Educational qualification required for each are as follows :-

For SSC LDC
-->>Your minimum qualification should be Intermediate passed out in any strteam from recognized board/university.

For SSC UDC
-->>You should be passed out in Graduation in any stream from recognized university.

Marks for appearing in the SSC Exam :-
-->>Your minim um marks in 10+2/Graduation should be 50%.

Age :-
-->>Your minimum age should be 17 years.
-->>Your age should not be above 27 years.

Age relaxations :- Only reserved category candidates will able to get the age relaxation facility.
~For OBC Category - 5 years of age relaxations.
~For SC/ST Category - 5 years of age relaxations.

In SSC Preliminary Exam questions are asked from the 4 sections.These are :-
~Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning.
~Quantitative aptitude.
~English Grammar.
~General Knowledge.

Dear friend to appear In SSC Examination, Your Age Should Between 18 To 27 Year.

The Upper Age Limit Relaxation Is Applicable On Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes Other Backward Classes Candidates.

And To Appear In SSC Preliminery Examination, You Must pass Graduation Degree from a Recognized University Or Equivalent.

Age Relaxation -

For SC/ST Candidates - 5 Year

For OBC Candidates - 3 Year

The age limits are different for different posts here I am suggesting you some detail of some exams:

Assistant/Sub Inspector in CBI:
You would be 20-27 years (Not born earlier than 15.04.1984 and not later than 14.04.1991)

Inspector of Income Tax/ Inspector (Central Excise) / Inspector (Preventive Officer)/ Inspector (Examiner)/ Inspector of Posts/ Assistant Enforcement Officer/ Compiler/ Divisional Accountant/ Auditors/ UDCs /Tax Assistants/ Junior Accountant & Accountant:

Age limit: 18-27 years (Not born earlier than 15.04.1984 and not later than 14.04.1993)

Statistical Investigator Gr II: Not exceeding 26 years (Not born earlier than 15.04.1985

The age limit depends upon the post you apply for. In general the age limit is that

21-30yrs for general category
21-33yrs for obc category
21-35yrs for sc/st category

Should have atleast 55 % of aggregate in B.E/B.Tech.
Should be unmarried, between the age 19.5 - 25 years of age.
Final semester can also apply.
Minimum Height of 157 cms.
The minimum acceptable vision standard for distant vision is 6/24, 6/24 correctable to 6/6, 6/6.
Candidate should not be colour/night blind.

Eligibility for DRDO exam after 60% marks in B.Tech. are as follows: -

1. Pass B.E. or B.Tech or equivalent degree in Electronics & Communication Engg. or Mechanical Engg. or Computer Science Engg. or Chemical Engg. or Electrical Engg. with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognized Institute / University.

2. Nationality - Indian

3. Age - 21 Years to 30 Years

A candidates appearing in the final year may also apply.

Minimum age limit for attempting SSC(Staff Selection Commission) exam

* Candidates should complete 12th standard from a recognized institute.
* Candidates should have age limit within 18 to 27 years.
* For OBC candidates has relaxation for 3 years
* For SC/ST candidates has relaxation for 5 years.
* Candidates should get 55% at graduation.
* Final year candidates can also appear for this exam.
* Unmarried male candidates can only write the exam.
* Candidates should be physically fit.

Staff Selection Commission

Minimum Age for SSC Exam

The age limit are different for the different post and are to confirm from
the notice of exam published in the employment news/Rozgar samachar.
Generally the age limit 18 to 27 years on the crucial exam. The age relaxation for the SC/ST are 5 years. For OBC it is 3 years and for PD
candidate it is 10 years.
