Re: What is Salt Respiration? This type of respiration is usually occured in plants. The respiration is less affected by the presence of nutritive salts. But if it is collected in distilled water then the respriation is called salt respiration. So basically the term salt respiration is used to observe the increase rate in oxygen. So this is the definition of Salt Respiration. I think you understood now what is salt respiration. |

The original rate of respiration (without anion respiration) can be observed in distilled water and is called ground respiration. Salt Respiration usually takes place in plants and deals with soil salinity and improving the salt tolerance of cultivated plants.This is of great importance nowadays to reveal the mechanism of salt stress and the nature of salt tolerance in plants.The recent introduction of biophysics and biochemistry into the study of salt tolerance in plants has promoted the formation of a synthetic approach to an essence recognition of vital functions of plants under salt stress.
