Air force common admission test exam is conducted by central government every year.

AFCAT exam contains 100 question,each question carries 3 marks and timing is 2hours.

Syllabus of AFCAT exam:

General awareness: history,civics,sports,geography,defence,arts,curre nt affairs,politics.

verbal ability in English:
Comprehension,error detection,sentence completion,synonyms,antonyms and testing of vocabulary.

Numerical ability:
Decimal fraction,percentages,simple interest,ratio,simplification,average and profit and loss.

Reasoning and military aptitude test:

Verbal skills and spatial vocabulary

the examination scheme for AFCAT(Air force common admission test) is that question paper will have 100 questions with 3 marks for each question. for each wrong answer there will be deduction of 1 marks. there is no penalty for unanswered questions. total duration for the examination is 2 hours.


the syllabus of the examination is
(a) General Awareness – History, Sports, Geography, Environment, Civics, Basic Science, Defence, Art, Culture, Current Affairs, Politics etc.
(b) Verbal Ability in English – Comprehension, Error Detection, Sentence Completion, Synonyms, Antonyms and Testing of Vocabulary.
(c) Numerical Ability – Decimal Fraction, Simplification, Average, Profit & loss, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion and Simple interest.
(d) Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test – Verbal Skills and Spatial Ability.

About AFCAT Examination -

The AFCAT Exams Are Of 2 Hr Duration And You Have Will Get 100 Question In This Exam, And All The Questions Are Objective Type, If You Will Give Wrong Answer, Then Your Marks Will Be Decducted. There Is Negative Marking In This Exams.

AFCAT syllabus includes
Reasoning,
Verbal ability,
General Awareness ,
Numerical ability & General Aptitude


The exam consist of objective question with a span of 2 hours only

And you have to smartly answer all those question because every question consists of 3 marks and your one mark will be deducted for 1 negative answer

ou can check the attachement of model general knowledge paper and AFCAT Quantitative Aptitude Numerical Questions of AFCAT.

also you can refer to R.S aggarwal quantitative aptitude book

Hi Prashanthini,
AFCAT 2011 would be of 2 hours with multiple choice questions consisting of sections :
1. Reasoning
2. Numerical Ability
3. Verbal Ability (English)
4. General Awareness and Knowledge
5. General Aptitude
The number of questions is 100 so the AFCAT is basically a test of your practice and speed. Solving previous year questions and sample questions would be helpful.
Go through practice sites such as exams.qoney.com
The books to be followed are R.S.Aggarwal for quantitative aptitude and reasoning, Manorama and Competition Success Review for current affairs and Pearson for GK.

Syllabus of AFCAT
In the AFCAT exam there are total of 100 questions are asked.
For each correct answer the candidate will get 3 marks and for
each incorrect answer one marks is deducted.
