Re: What are the benefits to choose IGCSE? My child is studying in 5th standard I have finished all my IGCSEs exams, and hopefully get the results in mid August. I live abroad India and will hopefully shift to India, so I will do my AS and A levels in India and my subjects will be physics, chemistry and maths because I want to study Civil engineering in future. My question is that, which board is better, IGCSE or CBSE for my AS and A levels? I also wanted to know what is needed if I want to sit the IIT JEE examinations? If I take CBSE , are there any possibilities I can go to an university abroad India after my AS and A Levels? What universities are most recommended to do civil engineering in India? And after dping the IIT JEE examinations, what will I need to do later? |

Re: What are the benefits to choose IGCSE? My child is studying in 5th standard Since your children are in IGCSE, they can continue in the same board. We have good IGCSE schools in India... |

Re: What are the benefits to choose IGCSE? My child is studying in 5th standard Quote:
IGCSE - is an internationally recognised exam whereas Indian board exams are only recognised in India. Most folk who intend sending their kids for higher education overseas go in for IGCSE. The benefits would be that in the IGCSE system kids are taught to think out of the box. Their analytical skills are developed and bookish studying is not encouraged. All in all what you are supposed to get from this system is a well rounded individual who can adapt to various systems. Our daughter is in the 5th Grade as well and is currently being coached thro Ed Excel for IGCSE. However we have decided now to switch over to a CBSE school as we ( having experienced life in various countries for over 18 years) have decided to educate her solely in India. Hope this answers your Q. |
