Re: Difference between Geographer and Environmentalist? Geography is related to the study of the Earth and the the personal who study about that is known as Geographer. The work of Geographer are listed as below:--->>> 1. The study of the earth and its features and of the distribution of life on the earth, including human life and the effects of human activity. 2.He study about the physical characteristics, especially the surface features, of an area. 3. He used to write book on geography. 4. An ordered arrangement of constituent elements: charting a geography of the mind. On the other side a person who used to study about the environment is known as environmentalist. The main work of this person is as below:--->> 1. Advocacy for or work toward protecting the natural environment from destruction or pollution. 2. The theory that environment rather than heredity is the primary influence on intellectual growth and cultural development. Some of the characteristics of environmentalist are as below:--->>> 1. He should be an expert on environmental problems. 2. They are the person who advocates or works for protection of the air, water, animals, plants, and other natural resources from pollution or its effects. 3. A person who believes that differences between individuals or groups, esp. in moral and intellectual attributes, are predominantly determined by environmental factors. |

Re: Difference between Geographer and Environmentalist? The difference between the two is not that much and that is why most of the people confuse between the two and use the terms interchangeably. The basic difference between a Geographer and an Environmentalist is that a Geography is the one which deals with the study of geographical aspects of a region, while a Environmentalist is the one which deals with the concern with the different factors affecting our environment such as pollution, conservation of natural resources. |

Environmental sciences regards the our environment everything from contamination to conservation, pollution, global warming, environmental engineering etc. It is concerned mainly with the human interaction with the environment. it is more similar to HUMANISTIC geography . On the other hand earth sciences concern the planet earth therefore geology, geophysics, and geosciences in general. It is more like PHYSICAL geography. you learn everything from sedimentary process, the earth internal processes, volcanoes/earthquakes, but also things like paleontology, or climate. |

Re: Difference between Geographer and Environmentalist? Do not worry, here is the difference between the Geographer and Environmentalist. Geographer is the person or we can say that social scientist who is engaged in compiling geographic and topographic information of a particular location or region. The information collected by the Geographers helps in case of Disaster recovery. Geographers are mainly interested in studying the relationship between human society and natural environment. They mainly conduct research about human activities such as ethnic distribution, economic activities etc. Also construct and interpret maps. Now on the other hand, Environmentalists are mainly interested in studying different factors affecting our environment such as pollution, conservation of natural resources. These persons are busy in forming the green policies for the different companies so as to protect our environment. They make people aware how to use natural resources in most efficient manner. |
