Re: can I do Chartered Accountant Course after completing B.Com? My total percentage is 49% My friend your marks in 12th or graduation are not relevant for Chartered Accountancy course. Therefore please feel free to apply for the Chartered Accountancy course without any worries. You will first have to register for the Common Proficiency Test. It would be necessary to clear the test before you can apply for the IPCC and Final Course of the Chartered Accountancy. Now there is exemption for graduates from appearing for the Common Proficiency Test. However this is not necessary. You have to meet a minimum percentage criteria to take advantage of this rule by the ICAI. Unfortunately in your case, you are not meeting the criteria. Candidate must have 55 percent marks in commerce graduation. Non commerce graduates need 60 percent marks. You have scored 49 percent marks thus you are not eligible for the exemption from appearing for the Common Proficiency Test. You must clear this test. CPT is conducted twice a year. There are 4 sections divided into 2 groups. In order to clear the Common Proficiency Test, you will have to score at least 30 percent marks in each group. Otherwise you will not be able to pass the test and take admission for the IPCC. 1. Fundamentals of Accountancy 2. Economics 3. Mercantile Law 4. Quantitative Aptitude |
