Yes. You can appear for IIT-JEE exams after your Higher Secondary(HSC) exam. These are the eligibility criteria for appearing in IIT-JEE:

#One must pass 12th exam with an aggregate of 60% from any recognised board/university
#One must be a citizen of India
#One must be between the age of 17-25 years, and 5 year relaxation for SC/STs.
#One can appear only 2 times after 12th exam including the year of passing 12th.

Hi

IIT JEE stands for the Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Examination. This is one of the toughest Entrance Exams for the UNDER GRADUATE Level which is organized by the IIT's and conducted every April right after the board exams are concluded.

Now the Basic Eligibility Criteria to appear in the IIT JEE are as follows :-

1. You should be a minimum 12th pass from a recognized school or state board having scored over 60% aggregate in it.

2. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are the 3 COMPULSORY subjects which one must have studied in his/her HS to be eligible.

3. Also IIT grants only 2 consecutive attempts to its applicants. So you can apply the year you give your 12th board, and then the year after.

Thus anybody who fulfills the above mentioned criteria's is eligible for the IIT JEE and other Entrances. However the number of attempts may vary.

Now as you have passed from Gujarat Board, you are surely eligible for the IIT JEE. You have to apply next year exams. This year the IIT JEE is over. Yes you can apply for both 2012 as well as the 2013 years .

Also if you are good at maths, Physics and Chemistry then you just have to polish your skills and then you can get through or crack this exam.

Hope this helps

All the best
