The eligibility criteria for applying in Merchant Navy is:- The student should have passed 12th from a recognized collage with PCM(Physics,Chemistry,Maths) subject. He should have scored with minimum 60% marks. He should be a citizen of India. He should be unmarried. His age should be below 20 years. Merchant Navy is required 12th standard with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Your age should be below 20 years. You must be physically well as mentally fit. You have to clear Written exam which consist General Ability and Mathematics. After clearing this written exam you will be called for SSB Interview. |

The examination to join the Navy is conducted by the UPSC as NDA examination. The examination is conducted twice in a year. The eligibility to appear for the examination is :- * Only male candidate are eligible. * Candidate must have passed or pursuing the 10+2 from the a recognised board. * Candidate must have PCM as the main subjects in the board examination to be eligible for the Navy. * Candidate age must be between 16.5-19 years. The examination is conducted in two stages as Written and the SSB. The written examination contains two paper:- * Paper I - Mathematics in which there are 120 questions of 300 marks are asked. * Paper II - General Ability in which 150 questions of 600 marks are asked. Both the examination paper are conducted on the same day with a interval of 30 minutes between them. The candidates who qualifies in the written are eligible for the SSB. SSB :- Service Selection Board in which the candidates have to go through the various type of tasks/obstacles given to them by the three officers and after qualifying you are eligible for the Medical test. But being a girl candidate you are eligible to appear in the CDS examination. The minimum eligibility to appear in the examination is graduation in the Mathematics/Physics/B.tech to be eligible for the Indian Navy. The examination is conducted by the UPSC twice in a year.
