My daughter studying 4 year bsc(hons)bio medical science with specialization of bio-technology/bioinformatics/genetics in 4th year of degree in sri ramachandra university, Chennai. Whether she is eligible for GATE after completion of the degree. |

This Exam is being conducted by IITs every year to give admission for the candidates for M.Tech course. The minimum academic qualification that is required for the candidates to apply for GATE Exam is by completion of Graduation in Engineering. Candidates who are pursuing final year of Engineering course can also apply for this Exam. There is no upper age limit at all for the candidates to apply for this Exam. There is no minimum percentage of marks criteria required for the candidates in Engineering course in order to apply for this Exam. In addition, there is no limit on the number of attempts for this Exam. One can take this Exam as many times as they wanted. I am sorry to say that you are not eligible for GATE Exam as you have completed B.Sc course which is a 3 year Graduation course. Moreover you are not eligible to join M.Tech course also as B.Tech is the minimum academic qualification required for the candidates to join M.Tech course. However, you can opt for MCA course at your Post Graduation level. Even to join this course, you have to get through an Entrance Exam. Each and every university will conduct its own Entrance Exam to give admission for the candidates for M.Tech course. If you want to get admission for this course in NITs, you have to crack NIMCET Exam. You will be eligible to apply for good number of job opportunities in various top IT companies in India after completion of MCA course. Wish you all the best. |

The abbreviation of GATE is Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. It is pitiable for you that you aren't preferable for GATE exam because of your educational qualification. The educational qualification regarding with GATE exam are below mentioned:- * Opponents must have finished B.Tech degree in any curriculum from any approved institution. * Or, Opponents must have finished master degree in science curriculum with 45% marks or MCA from any approved institution. * Opponents must have an Indian citizenship. This test is conducted every year by the Indian Institute Of Science - Bangalore and the Indian Institutes Of Technology. This test is conducted for the admission of candidates in M.Tech course in top colleges like IITs, NITs, etc. As per your query , i would like to tell you that you are not eligible to appear in the GATE exam after completing B.Sc in Chemistry. This is because only those candidates are considered eligible who : a) Have completed B.Tech in any stream from any recognized college/university.OR, b) Have completed M.Sc or MCA with a minimum of 45% marks from any recognized university. So , to become eligible for the GATE , first of all you have to complete the M.Sc degree from any UGC recognized university and then apply for the GATE Exam. There is no upper age limit for the GATE Exam but the minimum age limit is 18 years. This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. Hope the information will help you to the extent you want. |

Sorry to say that you are not eligible for GATE examination. GATE examination is an all India examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in Engineering and Technology. GATE examination is conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven IITs. GATE examination is conducted on both modes:- Offline and Online. The eligibility criteria required for the GATE examination are prescribed as below:- * Completion of graduation in Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Computer Application. * Completion of post-graduation in Science/Mathematics/Computer Applications/Statistics. * Final year contendors are also eligible for this examination. |

Re: Am i eligible for GATE exam after graduating from BSc with PCM? I am sorry but Bachelor of Science graduate is not eligible for the General Aptitude Test for Engineering. You will have to complete at least M.Sc course to be eligible for the GATE entrance exam. General Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE) is the entrance exam conducted for admission in Master of Technology course. Apart from that B.Tech graduates appear for GATE exam since it helps in getting job in Public Sector Undertaking. The ideal route for you would be to first complete Master of Science course and only then apply for the GATE entrance exam. However the other way around would be to pursue B.Tech instead of M.Sc. The B.Sc graduates are eligible for the B.Tech course through lateral entry scheme. The same scheme which is opened for the diploma holders. You will get admission in the second year of B.Tech course. For admission you must have 50 percent marks in the Bachelor of Science course. If this is not suitable for you then M.Sc or MCA are the only option. You will have to complete post graduation in either M.Sc or MCA to appear for the GATE entrance exam. A lot of people don't know but M.Sc and MCA graduates are also eligible for General Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE) apart from the B.Tech graduates. Once you have cleared the GATE entrance exam you are eligible for admission in M.Tech. Please remember that GATE score is only valid for 2 years after which candidate is required to appear again for the test. |

Those candidate have completed Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or Architecture/Design or its equivalent or masters degree in science department are applicable for GATE Exam. Final year of above mentioned degree are applicable for GATE Exam. You have completed B.Sc degree in chemistry so you are not applicable for GATE Exam.But after completion of your M.Sc degree in Chemistry , you can definitely applicable for this exam. There is no restriction for attempts in GATE exam .But at the age section your minimum age should be 18 years old. GATE score have 2 years validity .Pre final year candidate can not apply here . . |

The GATE score is meant to be used for admission in M.Tech. and equivalent courses and also M.Tech. plus Ph.D. dual degree courses. So, B.Sc. graduates are not eligible for admission in M.Tech. which makes them not eligible to take GATE. You can apply for the same after having completed M.Sc. degree. If you are willing to get admission in M.Tech. through GATE then you should start preparation during M.Sc. only so that you score well in the exam get admission in a good college. http://www.gate.iitb.ac.in/ |

The following are considered as the basic eligibility requirements of GATE Bachelor's degree holders in Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Pharmacy (4 years after 10+2) and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes. Candidates in the second or higher year of the Four-year Integrated Master's degree programme (Post-B.Sc.) in Engineering/Technology or in the third or higher year of Five-year Integrated Master's degree programme and Dual Degree programme in Engineering/Technology. Candidates with qualifications obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies recognised by UPSC/AICTE (e.g. AMIE) as equivalent to B.E./B.Tech. Those who have completed Section A or equivalent of such professional courses are also eligible.. Thank you.. |
