What are the opportunities? # It came to know from your query that you are interested in joining Indian defence forces i.e. Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force. # There are major two ways by which you can enter into any of above mentioned Indian defence forces: * National Defence Academy (NDA) Examination * Combined Defence Service (CDS) Examination # Age limit required: * 16.5-19 years for NDA Examination * 19-22 years for Naval Academy (NA) in CDS Examination * 19-23 years for Air Force Academy (AFA) in CDS Examination * 19-24 years for Indian Military Academy (OTA) in CDS Examination * 19-25 years for Officer Training Academy (OTA) in CDS Examination # Required educational qualification: * 10+2 in any stream from recognised board for NDA Examination * Graduation in any discipline for OTA and IMA in CDS Examination * Any engineering degree or B.Sc (Physics & Mathematics) for AFA and NA in CDS Examination. # Other common conditions which are required in both NDA and CDS Examination are: * Must be Indian national * Must be unmarried. * Must be male. As females are only eligible for Officer Training Academy (OTA) in CDS Examination. * Must be good physical fitness level. * Must not have any record of criminal, anti-social and anti-national activity. * Must not suffer from any serious disease. |

To get the recruitment in the Indian Navy, Indian Air Force there are many optional available but to get the recruitment as an officer. You have to clear the NDA or CDS entrance examination. Both the examination is conducted by the UPSC twice in a year. The NDA examination are conducted in the month of April and September and the eligibility is candidate must be pursuing or passed the 10+2 board examination with PCM as main subjects for the above two wings and also the age must be between 16.5-19 years. Only male unmarried candidate are eligible. For the CDS examination which is conducted twice every year the eligibility is only graduation passed candidate having attained the age of 19-22 years for IAF and 19-23 for the Navy. Also it is necessary to have the graduation discipline in the Mathematics /Physics or B.tech degree. Both the male and female candidates are eligible. So you can apply for the any one according to the eligibility. Both the examination are conducted in two stages. For more information visit at www.upsc.gov.in. |
