There are many PSU's which recruit through GATE because it is a prestigious exam and they get quality candidates from that.
A list of such PSU's are-
- NTPC

- HPCl

- Mazagon Dock Ltd

- IOCL

- BPCL

- GAIL

- NFL

- Vizag Steel

- NPCC

- MEL

- CEL

But you need to know that for recruitment in the PSU's you need to have rank at least below 1000 in the GATE exam. So, opportunities are many, you just need to tighten your seat belt and get ready for the exam.

Re: Which PSUs will accept GATE 2016 scores for Production engineering stream?

I am a B.Tech Production engineering student. I would like to know which postgraduation degree - studying MTech or MBA, will improve my future prospects after graduating in Production engineering. If it is MBA, which subject should I specialise in? If it is MTech, what should be my major? What are the job prospects, which fields/companies recruit Production Engineers? Can a Production Engineer apply for the post inviting Degree holders in Mechanical Engineering? Please advise.

Generally Public Sector Undertakings accept GATE scores for Mechanical, Civil Engineering and other streams rather Production Engineering. As you are required to apply for PSU companies under Mechanical Discipline in order to be eligible. Companies or PSUs accepting GATE 2016 score are given below.
