To be eligible to appear in JEE Advanced examination, you must have secured top 1,50,000 rank in JEE Main examination and must have scored minimum aggregate of 75% (70% for SC/ST) marks in your 12th standard board examinations. Since, you have scored 80% marks in your 12th standard board examinations, by securing top 1,50,000 rank in JEE Main examination, you are eligible to appear in JEE Advanced examination.

It has been decided in the meeting that JEE Advanced 2015 Eligibility Criteria will be changed from the existing Top 20 Percentile to Top 20 Percentile or 75 per cent marks in the Class XII board exam, whichever is lower.
like SC and ST candidates, the cut-off will be 70% in board examination.
and you are eligible for this exam overall percentage is main

You have got 48 marks in Mathematics so you are not eligible for JEE Advanced 2016 exam.

Those candidates who have secured top 1,50,000 rank (including all categories) in JEE Main examination are eligible for JEE Advanced exam 2016.

Your age should be in between 17 to 25 years.

Re: With only 48 marks in Maths can I sit for JEE Advanced 2016?

Yes, with 48 marks in the Mathematics in the 10+2 board examination you are eliglve to get the admission.

But the fore most important is the candidates need to qualify in the Mains which is the first stage of the examination to become eligible to appear in the Advance stages. So it is mandatory to qualify in the Mains.

There is no basic eligibility on the aggregate in the board examination to appear for the Mains and the Advance. The application form for the examination willbw available in the month of November.
