Re: Can I study MCA from IGNOU? I am a B.Com commerce general student from Calcutta University I recently completed my graduation in Political science with 38.5 % plus I have done diploma course in Mass Communication and Journalism. Am I eligible to apply for Masters in Political Science? percentage I have scored in 10th and 12th are 65% and 62% .. |

As you are interested to do MCA then you can do there is no problem but as you belongs to commerce background it will be better if you join for MBA . I am providing you the eligibility criteria for both MCA & MBA ....  As you have mention that you have scored 39% mark in your B.com , It is very difficult to get admission in MCA course in any recognized university. The last option which you can do is MBA for this you have to apply for MAT exam & have to crack the exam then only you can join the course. The list of MBA college under MAT exam......  Good luck............ |

Unfortunately in your case the B.Com percentage (39 percent) is very low to get admission in MCA university in India. I don't think you can get admission in any college since the percentage requirement of most colleges is somewhere between 50 to 60 percent. Government colleges do give some relief in the minimum percentage criteria to the SC/ST/OBC candidate but even after that you will fall well short to do MCA course. Unfortunately your marks are quite low for not just MCA course but any post graduate course after B.Com. Most of the post graduation course requires at least 50 percent marks to be eligible for admission. The only option I see open for you is the Masters in Business Administration (MBA) course. The MAT entrance exam for MBA, which is widely accepted across several MBA colleges in India, does not require any minimum percentage criteria. Which means that even with 39 percent marks you can do MBA course if you manage to pass the MAT entrance exam. MBA Colleges that accept MAT score are: IIMM-Pune Badruka Institute of Foreign Trade IMS-Ghaziabad Indian Institute of Finance Birla Institute of Technology However if you are only interested in computer related field the options for you are very limited. You can do some external courses in hardware and networking, web designing or animation. However you will have to check with the college to see if you meet the requirement since your percentage is quite low. |

Can I study MCA from IGNOU? I am a B.Com commerce general student from Calcutta University I am a bcom commerce general student from calcutta university. I have scored 39 percent in my bcom exam . I have scored 78 percent in 10+2 exam with business maths. Can I study MCA from ignou with such low marks in my graduation. please help. |
