It is good to see your interest towards the teaching line after completing the B.E.Many of like your stream just gobfor the M.E/M.tech or for the technical job.

Teaching in colleges is one of the best career. You will get blessed of the students too with the pay.For the job as a Lecturer in the colleges, you have to appear in the entrance exam known as NET.

NET is National Eligibility Test. This is an entrance exam which is conducted by the UGC every year for the post of Lectureship and JRFs.

The basic eligibility criteria for this exam is to have a master degree course in any stream from a recognised university with minimum 55% marks in aggregate.

The age for applying for the JRFs is only under 27 years old. There is no age limit for the Lectureship.

As per the latest rules and regulations of All India Council for Technical Education, any engineering graduate can teach as a lecturer in private engineering college but not in government engineering college.

For becoming lecturer in government engineering colleges, a candidate must have done master's degree and qualified the National Eligibility Test for Lectureship. You can do master's degree in technology with at least 55% marks in M.Tech to be eligible for the NET exam.

There is no upper age limit for the lectureship. UGC NET exam is conducted twice every year in June and December. So, apply for the GATE exam for M.Tech and then for UGC NET exam for lectureship.

Being a bachelor of engineering degree pursuer to become a lecturer of government college you need to clear NET.

NET stands for National Eligibility Test and the same examination is conducted twice every year once in the month of June and once in the month of December by Union Grant Commission ( UGC ) for the recruitment of lecturers in the university approved by the UGC.

--> For appearing in the same examination you need to have the following qualifications which are as here under :-

* You must have the nationality of India with your age not exceeding 28 years for the post of Junior Lecturer. Further there is provision of age relaxation upto 5 years for reserved category as per the government norms. For the post of Senior lecturer there in no age limit for any category.

* You must have completed your master's degree course with any of 84 subjects ( which you can check on the official link ) with at least 55% aggregate from a recognized university. Marks relaxation of 5% are provided to reserved category candidates.

For more details about the same examination you can log on to the link of www.cbsenet.nic.in.

Sorry, you are not eligible to become the lecturer in the government colleges at the present educational qualification.

To become the lecturer in the government colleges the candidates have to qualify in the NET and SET examination conducted by the UGC and state government. The eligibility to appear for the examination is :-
* Candidates must have passed the master's degree from the recognised university.
* Candidates must have atleast 55% aggregate in the master's degree.

So you have to pursue the master's degree to appear in the examination there is no limitations on the age criteria to appear for the examination. For more information about the examination visit at the www.ugc.ac.in.
