But if you are from SC/ST category candidates then you are eligible for UGC NET exam. NET stands for National Eligibility Test. Educational qualification required for NET exam is masters degree from a recognized university with above 55% marks. 5% relaxation is given for SC/ST category candidates. Final year student are also eligible for NET exam. There is no age criteria for NET exam but for JRF posts, your age should be below 28 years. |

Academic Qualification: >>Master's degree in any discipline from a recognized university. Final year candidates can also apply. >>Percentage required for General candidate is 55% and for OBC and SC/ST candidates is 50%. You are eligible to apply for UGC NET exam. 2. Age limit: >>Junior Research Fellowship: 28 years upper age limit. >>Lectureship: no upper age limit. |

In 2014, UGC scaled down percentage required to appear for this exam for OBC candidates. Earlier it was 55% for General and OBC candidates and 50% for SC/ST candidates but now OBC just need to have 50% in order to apply for NET exam. So, you are eligible for NET exam. You can appear for coming UGC NET exam in June, 2016. The upper age limit for Junior Research Fellowship is 28 years and no upper age limit for Lectureship. |

Can I appear in UGC NET having 54.47% in MCA from Sikkim Manipal University? Dear Sir, I have completed MCA from Sikkim Manipal University Distance education with 54.47 % and belongs to OBC category, I want to do preparation of UGC-NET,Can I eligible or how to preparing for Computer Applications Subject.
