Re: Can I join Defence with weak eye side? I am jacob Kurian and I am a BA English Literature finaliar student and I wish to join in Indian Navy and I have a slight problem for my eyes too. Am I eligible for it ? |

Re: Can I join Defence with weak eye side? -----A candidate should be able to read in a distant vision chart 6/6 in better eye and 6/9 in worse eye with or without glasses. Myopia should not be more than 2.5 D and hypermetropia not more than 3.5 D including Astigmatism...... |

But at the same time you are also worried over your weak eye sight. # You have not mentioned the degree of weakness in eye sight. # Aspirant of joining Indian defence forces must have 6/6 (good eye) and 6/9 (bad eye). # If the degree of weakness in your eye sight is marginally below the prescribed parameter of eye sight, then you are advised to go for improvement in eye sight through natural way such as few eye exercises, Yoga, Pranayams, Hydrotherapy, Accupressure etc. # You should also consult any eye specialist in this regard and consult the doctor for improvement in eye sight in natural way. |

Re: Can I join Defence with weak eye side? Well it depends on how weak is your eye sight. Indian army allows eyesight with corrective glasses upto power +/- 3.5. Though the standards are different for air force and the navy. You need to have 6/6 eyesight without glasses for fighter pilots. But for ground duty and technical branch you are allowed spectacles upto +/- 2.5. |

Re: Can I join Defence with weak eye side? Yes you can join defence service if your eye side is weak a little bit. For the Defence Service the eye sight of a candidate will be 6/6 and 6/12 in case of worst. So if your eye is not so much weak than you can join Defence Service but if your eye sight weak number is greater than 1/2 no. than you are not eligible for the defence sector jobs. But with weak eye sight you can only apply for the Indian Army jobs only you can not apply for the Navy and Air force jobs. |

Can I join Defence with weak eye side? Well actually i am doing b.tech and i want to join defence services but my eye side is very weak. So can i join with such weak eye side ? Please guide me. |
