Re: GPAT score is needed to appear in NET 2016 exam?

GPAT stands for Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test. This entrance exam is conducted every year by All India Council for Technical Education for Master's degree in Pharmacy. There is no need of GPAT score to appear for NET 2016 exam.

What you need to appear for NET exam is to meet following eligibility criteria for UGC NET exam:

>>Master's degree in any stream from a recognized university. Candidates pursuing final year of post graduation can also apply for the exam.

>>A candidate must secure at least 55% marks in master's degree to be eligible for UGC NET exam. Reserved category candidates get 5% marks relaxation.

>>No upper age limit for lectureship and 28 years for JRF for general candidates and 33 years for reserved category candidates for JRF.

GPAT Scores are not required for appearing in NET 2016 Exam.

You must have secured at least 55% marks in Master course or PG Programme which you are pursuing.

As you are pursuing currently M. Pharmacy, so you must secure 55% marks after its completion to be eligible for appearing in NET 2016 Exam.

Also, 5% relaxation in marks is given to SC/ST/PWD applicants.

Age Criteria:
  • There is no age limit to apply for Lectureship.
  • For JRF or Junior Research Fellowship, your age must be between 19-28 years.
  • 5 years relaxation is provided to OBC/SC/ST/Women Candidates.

No, GPAT score is not needed to appear for National Eligibility Test. You must fulfill following eligibility criteria to appear for UGC NET exam:

*Post graduation from a recognized university in any stream. Final year candidates of master's degree can also apply for exam.

*A candidate should have at least 55% marks in master's degree if he/she belong to general category and 50% if to OBC or SC/ST category.

For lectureship there is no age limit but for JRF, upper age limit is 28 years.

Re: GPAT score is needed to appear in NET 2016 exam?

The scorecard of Graduate Aptitude Pharmacy Test has nothing to do with eligibility criteria for National Eligibility Test. It does not matter whether you have appeared for GPAT exam or not for NET exam.

NET exam requires following eligibility criteria:

1. Master's degree in any discipline from a recognized university. Candidates in final year of post graduation course are eligible for exam.

2. Minimum percentage of marks in master's degree is 55%.

You can appear for UGC NET exam in 2016 without GPAT score.
