RTO is the Regional Transport Officer recruitment which is conducted by the Public Service Commission board and this RTO selections are done in different sub categories of posts such as the
  1. Judicial Services
  2. Clerks
  3. Sub Assistants

These are three types of vacancies available in RTO recruitment and some basic eligibility criteria required to fill this RTO recruitment application are
  1. Should belong to the Citizen of India only
  2. Candidates who wish to appear for clerks should have passed 12th from recognized board of study
  3. Judicial services should have to possess graduation in Law from any of the recognized institute of study
  4. Sub assistants vacancies should have to possess Engineering from Civil| Mechanical | Electrical branches of study from reocgnized board of study

These are the main eligibility criteria required to appear for the RTO recruitment

Selection process:
  1. Written Test
  2. Interview

Written test consists of the syllabus
  • General Knowledge
  • General English
  • General State Language
  • General Studies
  • Optional Subjects

These are the subjects which should be referred for appearing for RTO examination

RTO stands for Road Transport Officer.it is a very high level post in India.

RTO covers three posts and they are as below:-


Judicial post
Assistant engineer post
Clerk post

Eligibility for Judicial posts are :-

Graduation in law i.e.LLB from any recognized university of India are eligible for this post.
Age limit :- 21 to 32 years.

For assistant engineer post:

Those candidates should have completed B.Tech or B.E in any stream from a recognized technical university of India are eligible.
Age Limit:- 21 to 30 years.

For clerk post:

Completed 12th with minimum 60% marks from a recognized board are eligible.
Age Limit :- 21 to 34 years.

Syllabus for RTO exams are : General Knowledge, Verbal & Non Verbal reasoning, English, Aptitude, & Current affairs.

Books for the preparation of RTO exams are :
1- Verbal & Non Verbal Reasoning - R.S. Agarwal
2- English Proficiency IMS India.
3- Quantitative Aptitude book - R.S.Agarwal
5- Data Interpretion & Logical Reasoning - Arun Sharma.
6- Logical Reasoning - S.Chand.
7- Reasoning- Mukesh khanna.
8- General Knowedge - Arihant Publications.
9- Current affairs - Pragati Priyojna

Read news papers to update yourself for the current affairs.

RTO Exam is commenced by Public Service Commission every year.

Following posts are filled through RTO Exam:
  • Judicial Service
  • Clerk
  • Sub Assistant Engineer
Eligibility Criteria:
Candidate must be Indian.

For different posts, different criteria are required:
Judicial Service : Candidates should have Graduation in Law from a recognized University
Candidates age limit between 23 to 34 years

Clerk : Candidate should have 10+2 (or) equivalent from a recognized University
Candidates age limit between 18 to 37 years

Sub Assistant Engineer : Candidates should have four years engineering in any one of Civil / Mechanical / Electrical from a recognized University

Selection of a candidate is based on these two stages:
  • Written Test
  • Interview

The Written Test concludes following sections:
  • General Knowledge
  • General English
  • General State Language
  • General Studies
  • Optional Subject (Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering)
