Candidates passed 10+2 are also eligible to appear for examination conducted by UPSC. As, candidates can appear for NDA examination. You can choose any subject combination for Bachelor of Science. UPSC has not set any particular subject combination to appear for exams. After bachelor's degree, you can apply for following UPSC exams: 1. Civil Services examination. 2. Central Armed Police Force exam. 3. Combined Defence Services exam. 4. Indian Forest Services exam. |

Re: What is the eligibility criteria followed to apply for UPSC exam? # After going through your query minutely, I came to know that you are in dilemma regarding choosing of subject combination at graduation level and want to go for UPSC Examination in future. # One should choose only those subjects at graduation level in which he/she wants to appear in IAS examination. # Before choosing the subjects combination at graduation level, one should keep following points in mind: * Optional subject opted by the candidate should be interesting and be easily understanding/accessible. * Availability of study material/notes/books of optional subject. * Optional subject should be high scoring. * There should good past result record of that optional subject in UPSC Examination in last few years. * Availability of good coaching centres in your city/town for the preparation of that optional subject. * It is better to go for post-graduation degree in that optional subject. # Few useful tips for the better preparation of UPSC Examination: * Try to revise the syllabus regularly as many times as possible. Better revision helps in boosting self-confidence, better grasping of syllabus, better memorization of syllabus and better performance in difficult topics. * It is recommended to consult NCERT and university author's book in the preparation of Civil Service Examination. * Focus more on intensive study rather than extensive study. Since you already know that there is no compulsion of a particular subject in bachelor's degree for appearing in the Civil Services examination ( commonly called as UPSC examination ) so you should go for that subject which lies to your strength. As it is physcological thing that the subject which lies to your strength will be the easier for you as compared to any other subjects which will result in good preparation with more confidence. However, one should pay attention on Social Sciences, English,General awareness,etc.to do better in the exam. What is the eligibility criteria followed to apply for UPSC exam? We have to get a minimum bachelor's degree to be applicable to appear for upsc. Then what should be the subject combination if we do BSc? So that we are able to give a good time towards upsc preparation? Can you please provide me the details? |
