To become an IPS (Indian Police Service) officer in the future, it is important to have a strong foundation in academics as well as develop skills such as leadership, communication, and problem-solving. Therefore, it is recommended that you choose the group that you are most interested in and have a passion for, as this will allow you to excel in your studies and develop skills that are relevant to the IPS role.

Exams of IPS(Indian Police Service) conducted by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission)every year.
Its good to know that you are so conscious about choosing your subjects to become IPS in future.
According to me you should try to find that subject which you like the most and do your intermediate & graduation with that.
Becouse that subject will bring a significant help while clearing mains exam of civil service.
There are three stages of exams.
1). Preliminary test.
2). Mains test.
3). Personal Interview (PI)
Once you successfully completed all the three stages, you should come under the top 400 selected students to choose IAS or IPS.

To become IPS officer a candidate must have passed graduation in any discipline from recognised university with minimum 50% marks and 45% for reserved categories. After completion of your graduation you have to qualify the civil services exam that is conducted by Union Public Service Commission.

I.P.S stands for Indian Police Service and for selection on the above post you have to appear and qualify for Civil Services examination.

Civil Services examination conducted by UPSC every year. The examination is conduted in three stages.

Right now, you are eligible to pursue your inter or graduation in any stream as per your interest as there is no limitation on discipline of graduation degree to appear for examination.

But, you have to work hard to qualify in examination after graduation, so you can start preparation for examination from now.

Attempts:- 4 attempts for general, 7 attempts for OBC & no.of limits for SC.

Exam Pattern:- Written Examination

Selection Procedure:- Preliminary ,Mains & Interview.

From my point of view, science stream would be the best option both in 10+2 as well as in bachelor's degree. Science increases candidates rational mind and enables to question why what etc. This helps a lot in all subjects in Civil Services examination.

*Science stream helps to learn cause and effect relationship. So, take science stream with mathematics in 10+2 and science stream in bachelor's degree to appear for Civil Services examination.

Each and every group is better for Civil services examination. Either it is science stream with mathematics or biology or commerce or arts.

Candidates get confused while selecting the subject, there should not be any dilemma while choosing stream in 10+2 or bachelor's degree, it should be totally done upon own interest.

You must know that candidates from all streams either it is science or arts or commerce are eligible for Civil Services exam. Minimum age limit is 21 years.

These exams are conducted by UPSC twice a year.

Candidate must have at least 55% aggregate in their graduation.

Candidate age should not less than 21 years and not more than 30 years.

You can take any course in your intermediate there are no particular course if you have interest in Mathematics you can take up MPC or else you have interest in Commerce you can take up MEC,CEC,etc. If you have interest in Medicine you can take up BIPC also.

By doing medicine also you are eligible to appear for the IPS selections and you can take up any course to appear for the IPS selection.

Depending on your own interest choose your inter course,if you wants to do engineering take up MPC you must have to complete at least graduation in any discipline and then apply for the IPS selections.

You can opt for any group in Intermediate coure even if you are interested to become an IPS officer. To be eligible to become an IPS officer, you must have obtained Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university. So, there is no need to opt for any particular group in Intermediate course to be eligible to become an IPS officer. You can pursue any course in which you are interested.
