IAS Indian Administration Services is one of the prestigious civil services in India and this civil services are conducted by the UPSC which is the Union Public Services Commission and you need to apply through the UPSC in order to get in to the IAS services.

In order to appear for the IAS recruitment you should have to possess some eligibility conditions such as
  • Should have attained 21 years and not exceed 30 years of age limit
  • Should have done graduation or bachelors degree in any of the discipline of study
  • Should belong to the Citizen of India only

These are the main eligibility conditions required to appear for the IAS examination.

Selections are conducted through the three rounds of selection process such as
  • Preliminary Examination
  • Mains Examination
  • Interview.

Preliminary examination contains the objective type questions and this is the first round of selection process and getting qualified in this examination only you will be through for the second round Mains examination which is the Written test which contains the your course of study and you need to select two papers of your own interest.
After selecting in the mains you will have the interview face to face.

Qualification required and rules of IAS officer:-

Eligibility to become IAS officer

The age limit is 32 years for general categories,

For OBC categories candidates age limit is 35 years

For SC categories age limit is 37 years

For physically handicapped candidates , age limit is 42, 45 and 47 years

The candidate must be a citizen of India

The candidate should have passed the graduation from recognised University.

# In order to achieve success in civil service examination, one must stick to the following tips:

* Firstly, candidate must have good understanding of syllabus and exam pattern of Prelims, Mains and Interview.
* Secondly, candidate must collect the reference books along with NCERT books.
* Candidate should also focus on current affairs of national and international level.
* Candidate should follow the strategy and suggestions suggested by toppers in order to get motivated and being in the right direction.
* Note that candidate will get positive approach and feedback from successful candidates. On the other hand unsuccessful candidates might give some negative thoughts and demoralize the candidate.
* Candidate must have spontaneity and originality with answers during Mains examination.
* Candidate should identify the parts or area of syllabus in which most of questions are frequently asked and then prepare accordingly.


# Eligibility criteria for IAS Examination:

* Must be Indian citizen.
* Must be graduated in any discipline from recognised university.
* However, candidate in the final year of graduation are also allowed to appear.
* Must be in the age limit of 21-32 years.
* However, there is age relaxation in upper age by 3 years, 5 years and 5 years for OBC category, Scheduled Caste (SC) category and Scheduled Tribe (ST) category respectively.


# Selection process of IAS Examination includes following three stages:

* Preliminary Examination
* Mains Examination
* Interview


# Pattern of Mains Examination of Civil Service Examination:

The Mains Examination is of descriptive nature containing nine papers. Mains Examination includes following papers:

* Any two optional papers (each 300 Marks

To become IAS officer you have to appear in the exam known as civil services that is conducted by UPSC every year. You should have passed in graduation from recognised University and your age limit should be in between 21 to 30 years. Minimum percentage in graduation should be 50% and 45% for SC and ST. Firstly there is written exam and then you have to appear in the interview.

To become IAS officers you should have minimum qualification of graduation in any discipline from recognised University with minimum 50% marks and 45% for reserved categories. You have to qualify the exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission. Your age limit should be in between 21 to 30 years where as relaxation in upper age limit is given to reserved categories.

I.A.S stands for Indian Administrative Service and for recruitment as an I.A.S Officer, you have to appear and qualify in Civil Services examination conducted by UPSC.

The eligibility to appear for examination is candidate must have passed bachelor degree from any recognised university and age limit to appear for examination is 21-32 years.

The examination is conducted in three stages and you have to qualify in three stages of examination one after another for final recruitment. So, to get syllabus for examination visit at www.upsc.gov.in.
