Re: Can i apply for CDS? I am a BSc Biology 3rd year student Acronym of CDS is Combined Defence Service This exam is conducted by UPSC twice in a year. Educational Qualifications are :- For IMA /OTA : A degree from a recognized University. For Naval Academy: B.Sc. with Physics and/or Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering. For Air Force Academy: B.Sc. of a recognized University or equivalent with Physics and/or Mathematics as subjects or Bachelor of Engineering. B.Sc final year candidates are also eligible for CDS exam. Age Criteria :- IMA: 19-24 years Naval Academy: 19-22 years Air Force Academy: 19-23 years Officers Training Academy: 19-25 years |

Re: Can i apply for CDS? I am a BSc Biology 3rd year student I am an integrated Ms student in IISER mohali. I am presently in 4th year of my 5yr course and majoring biological science. I have learned physics, mathematics, chemistry, and Biology during 2yrs of my course. I would like to know, while doing my final year if i could apply for CDS exam for a preferred post in IAF or NAVAL Academy. Thank you |

Re: Can i apply for CDS? I am a BSc Biology 3rd year student Yes. The candidates who have completed B.Sc in Biology are eligible to apply for CDS Exam. But the thing is they are not eligible to apply for all the defence services through this Exam. Here is the complete information in regarding to that. Every year UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) will conduct CDS Exam twice a year to recruit the candidates into following defence services Indian Military Academy Indian Naval Academy Indian Air Force Academy Officers Training Academy As you don't have Mathematics subject in your Graduation, you are eligible to apply for IMA and OTA. To apply for IMA, the maximum age limit is upto 24 years and for OTA it is 25 years. The nationality of the candidate should be India to apply for this Exam. As you are pursuing your final year of B.Sc course, you can apply for this exam once you have done with your Graduation. Have good preparation for this Exam and crack it. No minimum percentage of marks are required for the candidates in Graduation to apply for this Exam. Wish you all the best. |
