The most scientific answer for this is that
When hydrogen sulphide gas is passed through sulphuric acid ,to be dried , the sulphuric acid reacts with it to give sulphur dioxide,water and sulphur only and thus it is not dried but instead is reacted with sulphuric acid

*I dont think so. You can't dry oil into a powder and the same applies here

Best of luck
your answer is a very silly analogy,just answer the question at hand and dont drag analogies into the mix

Re: Why Sulphuric Acid cannot dry Hydrogen Sulphide Gas?

A gas can be easily dried with help of Sulphuric Acid if it has no chemical action on acid otherwise it will react with Sulphuric acid.

Hydrogen Sulphide can't be dried with the help of Sulphuric acid because hydrogen sulphide gas get oxidised by sulphuric acid into Sulphur. So, the hydrogen sulphide gas has chemical action with the acid and eracts with it. So, it can't be dried by using Sulphuric acid.

Chemical Equation :

H2SO4 + H2S --> 2H2O + SO2 + S

Hydrogen sulphide gas cannot be
dried using sulphuric acid as H 2S
gas is oxidised by sulphuric acid to
Sulphur. Therefore, the H 2 S gas has
chemical action with acid and hence
it reacts with it , therefore, cannot
be dried using it.
H 2 SO4 + H 2 S -------> 2H 2 O + SO2
+ S

Why can't concentrated sulphuric acid be used to dry hydrogen sulphide.

Sulphur dioxide gas is not combustible and ordinarily does not support combustion. ... Dry sulphur dioxide does not have any bleaching action. ... Hydrogen sulphide is prepared by the action of sulphuric acid on metal sulphides. ... at 338oC. Hence sulphuric acid cannot be concentrated beyond 98.33% by boiling. ...
