You can give IPS or Indian Police Service which is one of the most prestigious services in India next only to the Indian Administrative Services (IAS).

Eligibility Criteria:-

You need to be a citizen of India.
You need to have a degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
The lower age limit is 21 years and the upper age limit is 30 years.

Selection procedure:-

CSAT (Civil Service Aptitude Test)
Civil Service Main Exam
Interview

Number of attempts:

General- 6 attempts
OBC- 9 attempts
SC/ST- unlimited number of attempts
Physically handicapped- 9 attempts for General and OBC Category.

Exam pattern:

Paper I Objective Type –- 200 Marks
Paper II Objective Type - 200 Marks
Interview - 200 Marks.
Paper III English Language Descriptive Type - 200 Marks
Paper IV Essay - Descriptive Type - 200 Marks
Paper V General Descriptive Type - 200 Marks

To join Indian Poilce Services, you must have to appear in Indian Police Services (IPS) examination. The IPS examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission twice a year.

To be eligible to appear in Indian Police Service examination, you must have to satisfy the eligibility criteria mentioned below :-

>> You must be an Indian Citizen.

>> Age Limit :- 21-32 years. Upper age relaxation is applicable to reserved catgory candidates.

>> You must have passed Bachelor's degree or equivalent in any dsicipline from a recognised university.

Selection Procedure :-
1. Preliminary Examination
2. Main Examination
3. Personal Interview

Number of Attempts :-
-> General :- 7
-> OBC :-4
-> SC/ST :- Unlimited

One can join Indian police for Group A and Group B officer i.e gazetted officer jobs through Indian Police Services (IPS) exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

Eligibility for Indian Police Services (IPS) exam :-

Academic Qualification :Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

Age criteria : 21 years to 32 years . There is relaxation for reserved category.

For various State Service posts in Indian Police like Constable, Assistant Sub Inspector, Sub Inspector,etc, appointment is made through State Public Service Commission.

Eligibility criteria :-

Academic Qualification :Graduation degree in any discipline for Sub Inspector and 10+2 for constable.

Selection criteria :

Written test, Physical Test, Medical Examination and Interview.
