Re: What is the eligibility for 3 years LLB after graduation in commerce

Hi,

LLB - Bachelor of Law

As per the eligibility criteria for LLB -

10+2 with 50% marks and age not above 20 years, so I think you don't fulfill both the criteria, so you are not eligible for LLB.

As per the eligibility criteria for LLM -

LLB or equivalent degree with 55% marks , which again is not fulfilled in your case, so you are not eligible for LLM.

So, I am afraid, you are not eligible for both these courses.

You can apply for M.Com now.

Re: What is the eligibility for 3 years LLB after graduation in commerce

LLB stands for Bachelor of Law which is 3 years long graduation degree for those who wish to become lawyer. LLB can only be pursued after completiong graduation. You can pursue LLB after completing graduation in any stream.

However it should be remembered that you must pursue LLB through regular mode. A distance education degree will not be recognized by the Bar Council of India which will not let you practice in the court as lawyer.

Now coming to your question, yes commerce graduates can apply for the LLB but if your percentage is less than 45 percent in graduation then it is not possible to puruse LLB course. You need at least 45 percent marks in graduation to apply for LLB. If you belong to SC/ST, then its still possible for you to apply, otherwise you can not apply for LLB course.

Eligibility

1. A graduation degree in any stream.

2. At least 45 percent marks in graduation.

3. SC/ST need 40 percent marks in graduation.

4. The age limit to pursue LLB is 30 years.

5. There is 5 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates.
