Re: Is the student having 87% marks in SSC state board exam eligible to do biotechnology course?

Biotechnology engineering is a branch of engineering. The name of the course "Bio-Technology" itself indicates that "Technology is combined with Biology for research & development".

Candidates who have completed 10th standard or equivalent and interested to pursue their higher studies in Biotechnology stream can opt for Diploma in Biotechnology engineering course or 12th standard with Biotechnology subject in Medical Science stream.

If you are interested to do Diploma in Biotechnology Engineering course, you can get direct admission in the course on basis of 10th standard. In 12th standard Medical Science stream, Biotechnology is one of the main subject but, it is not the complete course and admissions in this course are offered directly on basis of 10th standard.

As per the information you have provided in your query, you are interested to do Biotechnology course, so, I suggest you to opt for Diploma in Biotechnology Engineering course. Since, you have scored 87% aggregate marks in your 10th standard, you are eligible to get admission to study Diploma in Biotechnology Engineering course.

Biotechnology is one of the stream of engineering which has gained popularity among engineering candidates in recent years. The minimum eligibility criteria for this stream of engineering is that candidate must have done 10+2 from any recognized board either with PCM category or PCB category.

You can get admission either through entrance exam or through direct admission. You can apply for Joint Entrance Examination or State level engineering entrance exams.
