Re: Date for Indian Army Short Service Commission exam for direct entry as a Commissioned Officer?

Since you have completed your B.Sc nursing degree and looking for direct entry in Indian Army as a commissioned officer then you will have to clear CDS entrance examination.

CDS stands for Combined Defense Services and the CDS entrance examinations are organised two times in a year by UPSC. Also the examination comprises of two phases which are known as Written examination and SSB interview respectively.

** The eligibility criteria for appearing in the same examination for joining Indian Army i.e; IMA ( Indian Military Academy ) are as following :-

--> You must be an Indian candidate.

--> Your age must lie in between 19 years to 24 years.

--> You must have completed your graduation degree course with any subject of your choice from a recognized university. Students pursuing final year of same degree course are also eligible.

As per the UPSC 2016 exam calendar, the application forms for next CDS examination will be available from 16 July 2016 and will last on 12th August 2016. Also the first stage examination will be held on 23rd October 2016.

For more details about the CDS examination, you must visit the official website of UPSC i.e; www.upsc.gov.in.
