There are 2 attempts for JEE Advanced and 3 for JEE Mains.
But there is another criteria that these exams must be given in consecutive years of giving your first attempt at the 12th standard exam.
Thus having passed your 12th standard board exams in 2017, you cannot appear for JEE Advanced in 2019 or any year after that.Similarly you cannot appear for JEE Mains in 2020 or any year after 2020.

JEE stands for Joint Entrance Examination. This examination has two stages JEE Main and JEE Advanced. There are three consecutive attempts for JEE Main and two for JEE Advanced. If you pass 10+2 in 2017 then you will be eligible for JEE Main that will be conducted in 2017, 2018 and 2019 and for JEE Advanced in 2017 and 2018 only.

After 2018, even if you qualify in JEE main in 2019, you will not be eligible for JEE Advanced. For JEE Advanced minimum of 75% marks in board exams is required and only JEE Main qualified candidates can appear for advanced exam.
