After doing your diploma you should go for engineering in one of those college which offers direct admission into 2nd year to diploma candidates. After this you must ensure that you have taken admission for the aeronautical engineering course or atleast the mechanical engineering course. After this you will have to start reading and studying all about astronauts, theIr work , life etc. You must join a space firm like ISRO as an engineer and walk your ranks up to become eligible for an astronaut. It only happens after you give a lot of tests and exams both physical and mental. |

what you just need to do is after your diploma join B.E aeronautical engineering in a well infra-structured college and come out with a good marks. Then write ISRO entrance exam. for that you need to get a good knowledge in various categories such as general knowledge then current issues and must be very strong in your core i.e Aeronautics. After college you need 3 years of related experience in your field. after degree and some experience its time to apply for astronauts positions.NASA recieces an averge of 4015 application to fill around 20 slots for every 2 years.and they call around 118 applicants from total for ASB interview based on experience potentioal motivation ability to function as team and communication skill. If applicant intersted in pilot or commandor position then instead of mission specialist then you have to go for at least 1000 hours of flight time in commant of a jet aircraft.These type of training you have to face and need to do in future that why many Many applicants do not meet medical standards while others withdraw after learning all that the job entails. After all these incidents Astronaut Selection Board chooses final candidates and pass to NASA and their decision will be final. Be prepare physically and Mentally as this not the 9-5 job which one expect but a 24 to 24 hr full dedication........ |
