To Join Indian Army as an Officer after 12th class, you have 2 options: NDA Entry: Minimum education required: 10 + 2 or equivalent passed from a recognized board Candidates appearing in 12th boards or equivalent are aslo eligible. Applicable only for Boys of age 17.5 to 19.5 yrs. IAS (Indian Administrative services), to become an IAS officer you have to apply for UPSC Civil service examination. This exam is conducted by UPSC every year. The dates of exams for this year is already announced and available on the official website. To become IAS is not an easy task, you need to work hard daily. After 10th you are not eligible for IAS Examination. First, you have to complete your Graduation. Minimum educational criteria for IAS is Graduation in any discipline. Final year aspirants also apply for UPSC CSAT Examination to become IAS. Age should between 21 to 30 years to apply for UPSC CSAT Examination, relaxation is applicable for Reserved category Candidates. So, first complete your Intermediate examination and then go for Graduation. After completing graduation, you are eligible for UPSC CSAT examination. IAS is marked as A category government service. But this examination is not that much easy, you need to prepare well for UPSC Civil service examination. When you cracked UPSC CSAT preliminary exam, you are eligible for Mains. To become IAS, you have to appear for competitive examination i.e. Civil Service examination conducted under supervision of UPSC in three stages: 1. Preliminary Examination (CSAT) 2. Mains 3. Final Interview. CSAT Exam: This is a common paper for all and comprises of two compulsory papers of 200 marks each with 2 hours of duration. You will get multiple choice Objective questions in this examination. Once you have cracked this stage, you are eligible to appear for UPSC Mains examination. Only selected candidates are eligible for Mains. When you cracked the preliminary examination, you were called for Mains exam. The exam consist of 7 papers with 2 Optional Paper, It means there will be total nine papers for this exam. If your aim is to become IAS Officer, then complete your graduation first and simultaneously prepared for UPSC CSAT Examination. you have lots of time to prepare yourself for CSAT Exam.
