For IPS candidate is physical fit that is eligible for IPS Post, but UPSC provided the details of Physical Standard for IPS which I am posted here so check details from to: Minimum Height: Men : 165 cm Women: 150 cm Minimum Chest: Men : 84 cm Women: 79 cm Eye: Distance Vision: 6/6 or 6/9 [Myopis: minus 4.00D] Near Vision: J1 and J2 Spectacles are permitted |

If you have completed graduation in any discipline from a recognized University then you are eligible for IPS exam. Your age should be in between 21 years to 30 years. Number of Attempts:- For open category:- 4 attempts For ST/SC category:- 7 attempts Physical fitness criteria for IPS exam:- Height For Men : 165 cm(AROUND) For Women :150 cm(AROUND) OBC /SC/ST : Male:160 cm and female :145 cm Chest Male candidates-84 (+ 5cm). Female candidates-79cm(+ 5cm). Eye Sight For Worse Eye :6/12 or 6/9 distant vision For good Eye :6/6 or 6/9 distant vision |

If you have a carrying angle in left hand then you should contact your nearest Police Station, to check your eligibility. There are following Physical requirements for the IPS. ^ Your height should more than 165cm. For SC/ST/OBC candidates it should be more than or equal to 160 cm. ^ For male candidates, the minimum chest should be 84cm. ^ You eye sight should be between 6/6 or 6/9. |

Re: What is the physical eligibility required for the post of IPS? To join IPS (Indian Police Services) candidate must be a citizen of India. Candidate must have a degree from recognized university in any discipline. The candidates who are writing their final year degree exam can also apply for the exam. The maximum age for General category candidate is 32 years, for OBC 35 and for SC/ST candidates the upper age is 37 years. The Physical Criteria for eligibility of the IPS officer is as follows: Minimum Height- Men:- 165 cm Women:- 150 cm Minimum Chest Girth - Men:- 84 cm Women:- 79 cm Myopis (including cylinder) should not exceed minus 4.00D The presence of Squint is a disqualification Spectacles are permitted Distance vision for better eyes should be 6/6 or 6/9 Near vision should be J1 and J2 respectively |

What is the physical eligibility required for the post of IPS? Respected Sir, I want to apply for IPS post but I have a carrying angle in my left hand. I want to know am I eligible for the post of IPS? If yes then please tell me the procedure of admission. |
