IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service. This exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission every year. Eligibility Criteria: Nationality: Candidate should be citizen of India. Educational Qualification: Candidate should be pass the Bachelor degree from recognized university. There is no restriction for the marks percentage. Final year pursuing candidates are eligible for become IPS officer. IPS aspirants first appear for Civil Examination which is conducted by Union Public Service Commission in yearly ones For this Civil Examination some eligibility criteria are there i.e. Educational Qualification Age Limit Nationality Physical Standards etc,,,, If you satisfy these all eligibility criteria then you are eligible for Civil Examination Eligibility Criteria :- A.)Educational Qualification:- The minimum qualification required for appearing the competitive examination is Graduation. Many professionals like Engineers, Doctors, persons with Ph.d qualifications are competing for UPSC. B.)Age Factor:- 1.> For general category :- 21-30 years and can attempt 4 times. 2.>For SC/ST :- 21-35 years ,and there is no limitation . 3.> For the OBC:- 21-33 years and can attempt 7 times. Paper Pattern for IAS exam :- 1) General-Studies paper carries 150 marks 2) Optional paper carries 150 marks. Instead of one compulsory paper of General Studies and one Optional paper, both the papers shall be compulsory. Physical Standards

Re: Minimum qualifications required for IPS exam? The minimum qualification of taking the most prestigious IPS exam is that you need to be only a graduate from a recognized university of India. Although don't be much relieved by the eligibility criteria because it is one of the difficult exam to crack in the country. It needs extremely sincere efforts and regular smart study for being at the top most job of the country. Gud luck |

For IPS- Height Male 165 cm Pahari Male (general also) & ST (not the SC/ OBC) 160 cm Female 150 cm Pahari Female (general also) & ST (not SC/ OBC)- 145 cm Chest Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm. Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm. (Those cant expand the chest go to next service. If expansion is less during 1st Medical, i.e. just after interview; during second Medical, i.e. after the result, or appeal, expansion can be shown.) Many people fail in this test of chest expansion. (I know some people who have cleared this exam during the second Medical Test, i.e. after the Medical Exam conducted after the declaration of Final result) Eye sight 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye. Near vision J 1 for good eye. J2 for worst eye. The correction is by lenses only. High standard for the Colour-blind test. No inherent night blindness. Vision should stereoscopic. Blood pressure (High) Age 23 123, age 24 124, age 25 122, age 28 124, age 30 125, age 32 126, age 34 127. Ladies should not be pregnant at the time of Medical Test. Ear- good listening & normal ear cavity. 1000 to 4000 frequency hearing impairment shd not be more than 30 decibels. Nasal- candidate should not stammer while speaking. Exam Pattern : All India Combined Competitive Examination for the Civil Services conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) comprises of two successive stages: Preliminary Examination: It is of objective type, which is a qualifying examination. Main Examination: It consists of written examination and interview. The Preliminary Examination is held in May/June and the Main Examination in October/November. One must begin preparations of the main exam along with preliminary exam. Re: Minimum qualifications required for IPS exam? Eligibility for IPS exam You must be 21 years (minimum) and 30 years (maximum) at the time of taking exam. SC/ST/OBC and ex-servicemen are given exemption of 3 to 5 years in maximum age limit. People belonging to general category can appear for IPS exam four times, while OBCs can appear for seven times but no limit has been set for SC/ST. keep in mind, even appearing in just exam is counted as an attempt. You also need to meet physical standards mentioned in application form. |

Re: Minimum qualifications required for IPS exam? hiiiiiiii............ Minimum qualifications required for IPS exam is - IPS is a part of Civil Services, and its exams are conducted by UPSC. Anyone who has completed 21 years of age on 1st August of the year can apply for IPS exam. You can read more information on this from the website of UPSC. Before appearing for Civil Services examinations, it is advisable to build an alternative career for yourself. So, you should for now pay attention to your engineering first and try to develop your personality. You can then later on sit for the IPS officer paper. best of luck......... |

Dear, The minimum qualifications for the IPS exam is as follows:- -> The minimum educational qualification required is to be a graduate in any field. -> Age limitation is between 21-30 years for the general , 21-33 years for the OBC , 21-35 years for the SC/ST. -> General categories get 4 , OBC get 7 , SC/St get unlimited attempts to clear the exam. -> You need to first clear the CSAT ie. civil services aptitude test before appearing for the mains. -> The exam pattern consists of preliminary , mains and interview. -> General awareness is must in its preparation.
