Hello sir,
You can visit AIEEE website to checkout opening and closing rank of last year.

http://aieee.nic.in/aieee2011/aieee/welcome.html

For now, concentrate on your studies and try to perform your best in the examination.

No need to panic for cutoff.

Once you take the test and get your result then you should be thinking about these things.

Re: Minimum marks needed in AIEEE exam for General category?

For general category you have to score at least 130 marks this year to get into any one of the NIT..
For this i will surely say you will get at least NIT Hamirpur .
and For SC/ST candidates it comes down to around 70 marks ..
means that student who have 70 marks in their AIEEE are can take admission in NIT Hamirpur and others NIT...

Re: Minimum marks needed in AIEEE exam for General category?

Their is nothing like minimum marks in AIEEE, because even if you score 100 marks, you will get the lower ranking college. And if you score 350 marks in AIEEE then also you get the college of top rank, or any government college.
so on the basis of where you want to get admission, you have to set your aim, and to score the marks that is required to fulfill the eligibility of that college.
do prepare well.
best wishes.

Re: Minimum marks needed in AIEEE exam for General category?

Depends up highest marks score in AIEEE exam, they will decide cutoff marks.Till now cutoff marks never crossed 145marks.I think if you get 160 marks out of 360 Marks, then you can easily get admission in top Engineering colleges.

Re: Minimum marks needed in AIEEE exam for General category?

AIEEE you should score AIR less than 10,000.

It is correct that AIEEE calls more than 50,000 students and at least upto AIR 20,000

students get government colleges. It depends on the state from which you have done

12th. eg, If a student of Jharkhand scores AIR 5,000 he will easily get BIT Mesra

but outside Jharkhand students may require AIR 2,000 for admission in BIT Mesra.

This happens because 50% of all AIEEE colleges are reserved for those students

who are in the same state in which the college is.

it changes to significant extent. If I give example of AIEEE-2006 then 50% marks was

good enough for AIR 5,000 but in AIEEE-2007 50% marks resulted around AIR 12,000.

You can visit AIEEE website to checkout opening and closing rank of last year.

Re: Minimum marks needed in AIEEE exam for General category?

hello sir,

i want to say you that cut off marks in AIEEE changes every year for all cateories.........To sit in the online counselling you a student in general category should get 55 marks....(this was last year 2010 scenario)

but i want to say you that unless and until you score your rank under 10,000 you wont be getting your choice of college ......

There are also state qouta in every NIT's present in a particular state......for example if u get your rank around 40000-50000 in aieee and you are a citizen of jharkhand then you will easily get BIT MESRA...... but outside jharkhand state students need to get 1500-2000 rank to get the same college

so i would tell you not to worry for the cut-off marks.........you perform your best and result will be positive and you will good college..

best of luck.......
