Re: Number of seats in IITs and NITs for SC category in 2017 IIT refers to Indian Institute of Technology and NIT refers to National Institute of Technology. Both these institutes are regarded are top technical institute of India and for admission is same one has to qualify JEE ( Joint Entrance Examination ) held by CBSE once every year. As far as you are concerned about the seat matrix for admission in IITs and NITs for session starting in 2017 then till now the actual numbers has not been released by JOSAA and hence I am entitling here the last year seat matrix provided by JOSAA to have an idea about the same. |

Re: Number of seats in IITs and NITs for SC category in 2017 The number of reserved seats for SC candidates varies from institute to institute. However, a general analysis revealed that approx. 15% of total seats are reserved for SC candidates in IITs. This reservation percentage is more than 15% in NITs. Total number of seats in all NITs are approx. 23500 at all India level while this number for IITs is approx. 10000. |
