IPS stands for Indian Police Service.

The recruitment to IPS is done through Civil Services Exam conducted by UPSC every year.

For cracking this exam, you need to qualify three stages i.e.
  • Preliminary Exam
  • Main Exam
  • Personal Interview

Since you are in 8th standard now, so you must not focus too much on this exam.

Currently, you should focus on your upcoming 10th and 12th Board Exams.

However, you should develop a habit of reading English Newspapers or English News channel daily.

This will increase your knowledge as well as vocabulary which will further help you in qualifying Civil Services Exam.

After you complete your Intermediate, you can refer books like:

General Studies for Civil Services Preliminary Examination (Paper 2) 2015 (English) 1st Edition (Paperback)
Rs. 740

Indian Economy for Civil Services Examination (English) 6th Edition (Paperback)
Rs. 378

General Studies for Civil Services Preliminary Examination Paper - 1 (2014) (English) 1st Edition (Paperback)
Rs. 1,250
