Re: Can I get admission in any stream in NIT Calicut with 45000 Rank in OBC category? Hi friend.. NIT stand for National Institute of Technology. There are almost 20 NITs in our country and many new NITs are under construction. The admission in NIT is based on AIEEE result and admission procedure is carried through AIEEE counselling. Since,NITs are considered as top engineering colleges in our country,so after IIT,NIT is the dream of every student. Thats why,the cut off rank for any NIT remains very high. A General Category student can expect an NIT if he scores rank<20,000 in AIEEE. An OBC student can get an NIT if he scores at least around 30,000. And for an SC/ST candidate,the cut off ranks is around 1 lakh. Your AIEEE rank is pretty good but unfortunately,as you can see from the above list,you can't get admission in an NIT with this rank if you are from General or OBC category. But you can get admission in a good government or private college through AIEEE counselling with this rank. Best of luck for your admission. Thanks. With regards- Vikas. |
