Dear bachos, Mechanical engineering is just a stream that any one can choose it doesn't matters what are you in your 2 if ur having intrest and can pay keen intrest in ME u will b the achiever for sure why you guys are worrying!!!and if your having 50s n 60s in inter do u think that your not eligible for doing ME? not at all guys passing is enough in inter and doesn't matters wid yua percentage and after inter if u wanna join in IIT there will be an entrance exam And if u wanna do your ME course in NIT there will be an exam called AIEEE and if yu wanna do your ME course in local college Eamcet is enough.....

And in btech scoring above 60 percent makes u fit and makes u eligible for any kind of interview!!
Note - ME = Mechanical Engineering

Maniacal engineering is among the top branch.

ELIGIBILITY FOR MECHANICAL ENGINEERING EXAM:-

For ST/SC candidate minimum 55% marks is require.
> The age limit for exam is 17-25 year.

For Admission in top college you have to qualify the entrance exam like:-

[COLOR="Blue"]Hello Aspirant,

In order to be a mechanical engineer, you are required to first pass plus two exam from any central govt. board like CBSE or ICSCE ot state govt.board with minimum 60% marks in physics,Chemistry & math subjects for admission in IIT through the competitive exam JEE-IIT & 50 % marks required to appear for any other entrance exam such as AIEEE or any other state govt.entrance exams.

After competing the entrance exam, you will have to take admission in the allotted engineering college for 4 years B.Tech course. While studying in the final year of the course, you may get campus selection & if not you will have to get selected in off campus.

If you want to do Diploma in Mechanical Engineer, you will have to write entrance on 10th standard.Diploma course is of 3 years & passed candidates are eligible to be posted as a junior engineer.

Thanks & best of luck.

Re: Minimum marks required to make a career in mechanical engineering?

Dear Friend

You query is not quite clear as it does not convey the exact information which you require according to you.

You have asked that what is the exact marks required to make a career in mechanical engineering.

There can be two possible reply to this query:

First ,you may be in 10+2 and you are asking that how much marks is needed in 10+2 to make career in mechanical engineering.

Friend, you must secure at least 80% marks in 10+2 ,so as to become eligible for the advanced exam of the ISEET that is called Joint entrance exam .

% of marks in 10+2 will play a vital role in selection of candidates for the different streams of engineering of different engineering colleges.

The second may be that you are pursuing your bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and you want to know that what% of marks should you secure to have good career in your field.

Almost at present all companies require at least 65 % throughout the course of engineering.

Some good companies require more than 70 % also.

Marks will just make you eligible for an interview or a company but the main thing is that you should have knowledge and it will provide you the job.

Hope the information helps you.If you have still any other confusion you can leave your message here.

all the best

Re: Minimum marks required to make a career in mechanical engineering?

Dear Friend,
First Most important thing is that the admission is done on the basis of your marks secured in the entrance examinations of Engineering and Your class 12th board examinations,
Beside this every colleges and institutes have their own cut-off marks,
If you have attempted for National level Examinations and marks in that exam is less then also you can get admissions in good colleges,Since,The examinations you have given is depend on Results which is based at national level.
And if you have opted for state level Examinations then also you have good chance but you should have good marks in state level exam,Since the seats are fulfilled mostly by the students who have given national level examinations.
The basic and minimum marks is that you must passed your 12th Board Examinations with at least 50% Marks and with that you should also passed your engineering Entrance exams.
