HI!
I am happy to inform you that you are eligible for I.A.S but not eligible for I.P.S exam.

If you want to join I.A.S you have to qualify the civil services exam.

Civil Services exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year.

After graduation you can apply for I.A.S exam.
I.A.S exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year.

Age should be in between 21-30 year. For ST/SC candidate age should be in between 21-33 year.

There are three stages of selection:-
> Written Exam
> Interview
> Medical exam

You can apply online or offline.
The Form cost is just 20 Rs.
For more detail log on to www.upsc.gov.in

ALL THE BEST!

Re: Is a person with only one eye operational eligible for IPS & IAS?

Hi
For being an IAS officer, even both the operated eyes are ok. Your vision should be clear with the help of the specs or after the operation. This is the requirements of the medical department in case of the eyes perspective.

My friend you are not eligible for Indian Police Service. Due to the nature of the work, candidate with only one working eye can not be selected for the Indian Police Service. There is a vision requirement in both eyes for Indian Police Service.

But there is no such requirement for Indian Administrative Service. You can apply for the IAS. Even candidates with far worse physical disabilities are eligible for Indian Administrative Service. There is even a reservation for candidates with physical disability. However I am not sure whether you would be eligible for that quota on not.

But what is sure that you are eligible for Indian Administrative Service. Below is the eligibility criteria.

Eligibility

1. You should be of Indian origin.

2. Must have bachelor degree in any stream.

3. There is no issue of minimum percentage.

4. The age limit is 21 to 30 years.

5. There is three years relaxation for OBC.

6. SC/ST candidates are eligible for up to 5 years relaxation.

Exam Pattern

1) Preliminary Exam

2) Main Exam

3) Interview

Number of Attempts

1) General - 4

2) OBC - 7

3) SC/ST - Unlimited

Physical Requirements

F - Work performed by fingers

PP - Work performed by pulling & pushing

L - Work performed by lifting

KC - Work performed by kneeling and crouching

B - Work performed by bending

S - Work performed by sitting

ST - Work performed by standing

W - Work performed by walking

SE - Work performed by seeing

H - Work performed by hearing/speaking

RW - Work performed by reading and writing

Re: Is a person with only one eye operational eligible for IPS & IAS?

sorry my friend with only one operational eye, you will not be acceptable for IPS selection. you can definitely take up your civil services exam. but cannot become IPS officer.
for IPS officers eye sight is very important. so sorry to say friend, you will not be eligible for IPS exam.
but take up civil services exam and do apply for posts other than crime branch posts.

I lost my left eye Vision at the age of 12. The Eye look like a normal eye having a white dot in it but have no vision. But I have good vision of right eye and can perform all kind of tasks too .Doctors gave a medical certificate of 30% Disability. Many Government jobs ask 40% disability to apply in PH.

My question is ::Is , I elligible to apply for Government jobs or Bank jobs or Engineering posts or not.

If so ,in which category I need to apply. Is in General or PH.

Also suggest engineering job oppurtunities based on merit.

You will come under Physical Disability and if your disability is more that 40%, then only you will be eligible for PH quota.

You are eligible for IAS and other services except IPS.

Re: Is a person with only one eye operational eligible for IPS & IAS?

Sorry to say bit you are not eligible for IPS and IAS.These forces maninly deals
with crime so one should be physical fit .These forces have to use gun too sometimes
when it requires and for that one both eye should be fit so it mean that you are not
eligible

Requirements for IPS AND IAS.:

Your eye should be 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye. As
you have said that you have only one eye so it mean that you are not eligible
