Re: State/Central Government job after degree from an open university For any government job there's no matter for the open university or distance education, the candidates should passed the examination in any stream or course from the any university but it should be approved from DEC which stands for distance education council. UGC has allowed all the possible degrees by distance education. so, all the students who have graduation through distance education mode are allowed to face the government exams. |

Re: State/Central Government job after degree from an open university Graduation from open universities are valid in Central and State Recruitment where experience in specialised fields are not required only a graduation in any discipline is enough like Civil Service Exam, Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level and Higher Secondary Level, State Civil Service Exam, State Staff Selection Commission Exam, etc but restricted in exams like Recruitment for the technical and managerial vacancies. It's best to pursue graduation through regular mode as the level of opportunities are ample if compared to distance mode. |

IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) is one of the best example of open university. Mostly all the PSU accept degree from open universities but some PSU's prefer regular university degree over degree from open university. Hence, you can apply for job in any PSU or center government organization without any hesitation. |

Degree of these university is acceptable for state and central government jobs. You can apply for state and central government job after completion of bachelor's degree from open university provided your university is approved by UGC. |

Re: State/Central Government job after degree from an open university Yes, you are eligible to get jobs in Central & State government. The open university certificate is equivalent to regular certificate. So you can apply for the central & state government jobs. Based on the rule of UGC the candidate who are studying open & distance education in graduation course or under graduation course are equally eligible for the higher studies and jobs. The certificate from open and distance education certificate is equivalent to the regular education certificate. |

Re: State/Central Government job after degree from an open university Yes certificates of recognised open university are valid to appear for entrance examination for recruitment in government jobs. To get government jobs candidates must have to appear and qualify in entrance examination, the basic required education qualification to appear for examination is candidate must have passed bachelor degree from a recognised university ( open or regular ). So, you must start preparation for examination in which you want to appear for examination. |

Re: State/Central Government job after degree from an open university Yes if your college is recognized then the degree must be valid. Before admission you need to check it otherwise all goes vain and your degree should not be valid anymore. Your degree must be valid for all government jobs. |

So, you will be eligible to appear for various job recruitment examination after passing your bachelor degree from a recognised open university. |

The degree from a recognised open university is valid to appear for examination. So, if you are pursuing from a recognised university, you will be eligible to appear for examination. You will be eligible to appear for Banking, Railway, SSC and other examination. |

One who has completed degree from Open University has same value as that of regular certificate. So you are eligible. |

Re: State/Central Government job after degree from a open university If the open university is approved by University Grants Commission then there will be no problem in getting job either state government or central government. The degree received from open university like IGNOU is valid for any competitive government job entrance exam. Yes, it has same value, what matters is your performance in government job entrance examination and its various stages. |

While appearing for Interview, the HR may ask you regarding the open university. In that case, it totally depends on you, how you convince them. So, in case if you are pursuing any degree from open university (like IGNOU, etc.) then it's equally important. |
