Competition is very tough in government sector. Selection is done purely on merit basis. Some of entrance exams for B.Tech candidates are: GATE exam for PSU jobs. Indian Engineering Services exam for Group A job. Combined Defence Services and AFCAT exam for defence jobs. IBPS CWE for Bank PO and Clerk exam. State Public Service Commission exam. |

Re: What are the opportunities available to get a job in government sector after completion of B.Tech? There are so many opportunities in government sector after completion of Bachelor of Technology. You can get jobs in technical as well as non technical sector. For jobs in technical government sector like Public Sector Undertakings, you need to apply for GATE exam and secure top rank. GATE toppers of different streams are directly called for Group Discussion and interview for final selection in PSUs like NTPC, BHEL, SAIL, GAIL, ONGC, IOCL etc. In non technical sector, you can apply for UPSC entrance exams like Indian Engineering Services, Civil Services examination etc. For Defence sector jobs, you can apply for Combined Defence Services and AFCAT. B.Tech passed candidates can apply for jobs of clerk and Probationary officer in bank through Institute of Banking and Personnel Selection Common Written exam. |

After completion of your B.Tech course from a Government recognised university, you can apply for various jobs in government sector like bank jobs, railway jobs, etc.,. You can also apply for groups or SSC examination to apply for jobs in government sector. To get a job in government sector, you need to work hard as there will be tough competition for government sector jobs. |

You should have thought of job opportunities a year advance and should be prepared for the job by this time. But you have not done that. It is unfortunate. Job opportunities in government sector are IES (Indian Engineering Services) exam specially for Engineers. IAS (Civil Services) for all Degree students IBPS PO - Government banks for all Degree students Also core companies in Government sector based on your stream in B.Tech |

Some of the best available options are : I.E.S. PSU ( Public Sector Undertakings ). Railway. ISRO. Defence. DMRC etc. Other than these option you can also appear for entrance examination to get recruitment in banking, staff selection, teaching jobs. For recruitment in all these jobs candidates have to appear and qualify in entrance examination for final selection. You must start preparation for examination as according to job you want to get. |
