Re: Possibility of clearing IAS without taking coaching ever from any institute IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service Exam. It is also officially called Civil Services Exam (CSE). This exam is conducted annualy by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission). This exam is very tough which needs dedication and hard work to clear within the top merit list. There is possibility to clear IAS exam without coaching classes. But, preparation should be planned and strategical that would include all the topics to be studied with step by step learning process. IAS exam pattern - 1. Preliminary Examination (400 marks) > It consist of two papers (200 marks each) > Objective type question papers - 2 hours each 2. Main Examination > Qualified candidates of preliminary exam will appear for Main Exam. Merit list candidates of Main Exam will appear for Interview. |

Many people have cracked this exam without taking any coaching. In coaching they make you to learn everything within few days. If you want to Grab this exam without any coaching then you have to put your efforts right from today. Make your basics clear. Keep yourself up to date with current affairs. NCERT books are the best book to clear your basics. |

Re: Possibility of clearing IAS without taking coaching ever from any institute Coaching Institutes neither appear and nor qualify, it is aspirants who qualifies in Civil Service Examination conducted by UPSC for recruitment as an I.A.S Officer. So, it is not necessary to take coaching for preparation of Civil Service examination and one can qualify in examination with their hard work, dedication, devotion and determination to studies. So, you just need to focus on your studies. But along with hard work it is necessary that candidate do smart work with proper strategy. The only best use of coaching institute is that they provide you a proper guidelines about preparation of examination. So, if you have contact with your one who is preparing for examination or have done then there is no need to join any institute. In 2016, there were lots of candidates who cleared this exam through self study. There are so many online portals and Youtube channels available from where you can get guidance in case of any confusion. Some of the best are Insight IAS, Unacademy, Iasbaba etc. For notes of materials of any coaching institute, you can visit blog of "Shashi Thakur". Here, test series of all top coaching institutes are available free of cost. You can start your preparation with help of NCERT books. Reading Newspaper is compulsory to understand various issues of national and international importance. |

Re: Possibility of clearing IAS without taking coaching ever from any institute Sure, you can pass IAS exam but unlike any other exam you should be ready to put some extra efforts. All competitive exams after graduation are tough and need dedication, preparations and everything but, this exam have difficulty level more than any other exams comes under UPSC . Thousands of students enroll for exam but only handful of them able to clear it sucessfully. Coaching institutes just there to give you direction and clear some topics which you find difficult to understand but rest of work depends upon your frame of mind. |

If you are firmly determined for cracking IAS Exam, then nobody can stop from qualifying it. It doesn't matter too much that you are doing coaching or not only if you determined and dedicated towards preparation of IAS exam. You may prefer following books for preparation of IAS Exam.
