Re: Is Maths, Science and English important subjects to get IAS job? 1. As compared to Mathematics, Science and English, social science subjects like Geography, Political Science, Economics and History are more important for Civil Services examination. 2. But you should not ignore mathematics and science as they help in development of personality of an individual as these subjects increase you reasoning and rationality power. It gives you power of reason to develop scientific temper. |

Re: Is Maths, Science and English important subjects to get IAS job? For selection in I.A.S job one have to appear and qualify in Preliminary, Mains and Interview stages of Civil Service examination. The examination paper contains question of General Studies which includes Science, Social Studies, Current Affairs, Essay etc. So, it is necessary to have to better knowledge of English, Maths and Science. Similarly, Maths, English and Science are also important subjects for IAS preparation. You shouldn't skip any subject while preparation, but give more emphasis on some of the subjects which covers maximum marks in IAS.
