Geography honors candidates have following career options- Survey- Specialization in surveying can be done by joining State survey departments, Survey of India or Private organizations. Town Planning- Public as well as private sector organizations concerned in Urban Planning and Designing employ Geographers with Post Graduate degree. Diploma course is also available in specialization of Town Planning Cartography- Specialization in Cartography, candidates have to make charts, models, maps and globes. Remote sensing- Study of phenomenal changes in floods, forest fires, draughts, earthquakes, etc through remote sensing satellites. Urban and Regional Planning- This specialization deals with housing, planning and development projects considering the location and land space available. |

Re: What jobs I can apply for after completion of geography honors? After Geography Hons you can apply for all those jobs whose eligibility criteria is graduation. You can give exams of state PCS and UPSE. Many candidates prefer Geography for cracking civil exams because it covers various proportion of GS. |

The available core jobs is as a teacher After master degree you will become eligible for lecturer in government colleges. Other than core jobs the available option are :- Banking. Civil Service. Defence Service. SSC. Railway. |

The jobs are available in teaching, banking, defence, railway, civil service, staff selection. The common eligibility to appear in examination is candidate must have passed bachelor degree. The age limit varies with examination. So, you can appear for respective entrance examination and after qualifying in the examination will be eligible for recruitment in job. |
