After the completion of 12th you have to give entrance exams to get admission in engineering.
You can apply for JEE Mains, VITEE, SRMEE etc.

You will get admission according to your rank in the entrance exam.
A candidate must be 12th passed with physics chemistry and mathematics as the main subjects to get admission in engineering.

To make a career in software you have to pursue graduation in computers.

Even if you have taken Science in the 11th and cannot pursue Engineering, you can still go for the BCA and then MCA.

It would take you 5 years to become a full fledged Software expert and you can make a bright career in that field.

Yes, you will become eligible to get admission in software engineering course after 12th with science stream.

The eligibility to get admission in the stream is that candidate must have passed 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main paper.

To get admission in various institutes you have to appear and qualify in entrance examination.

Since you are interested in pursuing Software engineering and you have opted for Science stream for your Class 11th academics so you are going in the right way and you just not have to change anything and all you need to work hard to achieve best possible ranks in engineering entrance examination for admission in top engineering colleges to enjoy qualify education and better job prospects.

For your information I would like to let you know that for pursuing an engineering degree course one is required to have pursued his/her Class 12th academics in Science stream with PCM group from a recognized board which is same in your case.

Further for admission in top colleges to pursue B.Tech in Computer Science or Information technology for becoming a software engineer you need to qualify entrance examinations like JEE, State EEE/CETs, SRMEEE, BITSAT, COMED-K, etc. .

If you have taken science stream for pursuing your 11th and 12th standard then, you can apply for admission to Software Engineering course. Candidates who have passed 12th standard or an equivalent examination with PCM stream from a Government recognised board are eligible to pursue software engineering course. Admission in software engineering course are done through merit basis of entrance examination conducted by the respective state/ college/ university.

If you have opted for Science standard in 11th standard, then its good decision.

Because, only Science standard students are eligible for applying engineering entrance exams and thereafter choose Software Engineering as their preferred branch while counseling.

While studying in 12th standard, you need to fill engineering entrance exam like JEE Main, JEE Advanced, MH-CET, VITEE, SRMEE, BITSAT, COMEDK, etc.

Then, appear for entrance exam and secure a decent rank to get reputed college.

Questions related to Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics will be there in these entrance exams.

While counseling, you will have to select Software Engineering as your branch.
